我不喜歡吃麥當勞，不過，麥當勞對我來說，就是會想起鄧英敏叔叔的聲音（小時候麥當勞的廣告一定會有麥當勞勞叔叔的出現，而替麥當勞叔叔配音的，正是藝員鄧英敏先生）。除了麥當勞叔叔，還有一堆人物，諸如漢堡神偷、巨無霸警長、小飛飛、滑o都o都、脆卜卜等，這些都是代表著麥當勞…（雖然其實麥當勞叔叔的樣子並不可愛，說老實一點是有點嚇人！）不知何時開始，麥當勞的廣告已經看不見他們的蹤影，都換成炙手可熱的歌手藝人。又不知何時，麥當勞所送的玩具，都變成了Hello Kitty、大頭狗、Keroro等，喔！我家裡還有一些珍藏的麥當勞角色玩具啊，再過十年會變成網上拍賣的熱賣貨品嗎？
做生意的，迎合市場轉型屬無可厚非，是否成功我不知道。麥當勞叔叔、漢堡神偷、巨無霸警長、小飛飛、滑o都o都、脆卜卜等是你我的「集體回憶」（這個term夠爛了沒有？）嗎？不如找in-media那些朋友們去給我們捍衛這個「集體回憶」吧！喔！同事提醒我，他們也反全球化啊，所以，我們還是把回憶好好收藏在自己的腦裡好了！
我們的生活，越來越貼近電腦的功能啦，過時的，想也不想就可以被DELETE啊…或許電影「CLICK」的情節，很快就會活生生的逞現你眼前！喔，你需要UNDO功能嗎？我不要，因為這不好玩！�
年輕掛帥 麥當勞叔叔淡出

【明報專訊】陪伴港人超過30載的麥當勞叔叔，將離我們而去！麥當勞為打造「Forever Young」年輕品牌，所有新開設的分店均會以活力和時代氣息為主調，取代「生招牌」麥當勞叔叔公仔；現時全港逾200間麥當勞分店，僅剩約40間仍有麥當勞叔叔公仔駐紮，隨着舊店逐一翻新，麥當勞叔叔「買少見少」。
位於九龍塘又一城的麥當勞分店，可謂「Forever Young」品牌的表表者。該店昨日舉行隆重的揭幕禮，正式由4000平方呎擴充至6000平方呎，全店設計時尚優雅，富空間感，天花裝有水晶燈，牆壁是雕上古典圖案的鏡面，應有盡有，唯獨欠缺一頭爆炸紅髮的麥當勞叔叔公仔。
麥當勞有限公司董事總經理劉士盛表示，近年積極開拓年輕人市場，除開設McCafe和24小時營業之外，亦會按照地區特色設計店舖，例如又一城分店時尚優雅，配合其坐落於高檔次的購物商場。劉說，今年準備開設5至8間新店，均走年輕路線，例如4月揭幕的朗豪坊新店，將以新潮形象示人。
全港原有八成麥當勞分店有麥當勞叔叔公仔，但隨着舊店逐一翻新，現僅剩兩成分店仍有麥當勞叔叔。劉士盛表示，今年會翻新30間舊店，店舖翻新後將「徹底變化」，以配合各區特色。他說，雖然愈來愈少分店有麥當勞叔叔公仔，但強調麥當勞叔叔仍很重要，是麥當勞的品牌代表﹕「Ronald（麥當勞叔叔）會繼續推廣均衡飲食，小朋友開生日會，仍會看見他。」麥當勞發言人補充，會視乎各區情况和區內兒童數目，決定是否保留麥當勞叔叔公仔。

另外，劉說，麥當勞面對人民幣升值及租金上漲等壓力，今年的經營成本將增加一成，公司將於年內把McCafe數目由35間增至50間，並於全線24小時營業分店提供免費WiFi（無線上網）服務，以吸納大批年輕顧客，盡量不會加價。

Replay chance for fringe players
It's unlikely there'll be room for Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs or Henrik Larsson in Sir Alex Ferguson's side when United visit Reading on Tuesday.
Instead, the Reds boss will give first-team fringe players another chance, just as he did when the sides met at Old Trafford only nine days ago.
"Some of the older players will be rested," confirmed Sir Alex.
"It's important I use the squad in terms of getting minutes in the FA Cup for a lot of the players. But most importantly, we want to put out a team that can win."
Alan Smith may find himself in Sir Alex's plans for what would be the striker's first match in this season's competition. Smith has struggled to force his way back into the side after recovering from the broken leg he sustained in the 2006 FA Cup defeat at Liverpool.
In January, the 26-year-old rejected the chance to join a Championship club on loan, preferring instead to remain at Old Trafford and fight for a place.
"At the time I said going away on loan would be a good thing for him," admitted Sir Alex.
"But he had the ambition and drive within to say, 'I want to get back in the team'. That showed great faith in himself. Alan has great courage and enthusiasm to play football, which always gives him a chance."
