两匹狼的故事

一个夜晚，上了年纪的印地安长老对他的孙子讲述一个人们内心两匹狼战斗的故事。
他说："我的孩子，这场战斗是发生在我们每个人心里'两匹狼'之间的。"

一匹是邪恶，他暴躁，爱妒忌，多疑，他悲观，总是后悔，又贪婪傲慢，自艾自怜；
他偏执而且不知足；他卑鄙，爱撒谎，充满虚荣心，喜欢摆架子并且刚愎自用。

一匹是善良，他快乐，平和，充满爱心与希望；
他真诚又幽默，亲切且慈悲，富于同情心又十分慷慨，真实，有激情并且忠诚。

小孙子想了一会儿，问他的爷爷："哪匹狼赢了呢？"

印地安长老给了一个简单的答复："你自己餵养的那匹。

The Story of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness,
benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: Which wolf wins?

The old cherokee simply replied, The one you feed.
