Book I: Psm 1
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. (6) 因为耶和华知道憭H的道路;恶人的道路狴灭亡。(6)
A righteous man is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Because the Lord watches over the way of him. But how is he considered in the eye of the Lord as righteous? What have he done? His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He loves and think deeply about the law of the Lord. And he is whom walks not in the counsel of the wicked, or stand not in the way of sinners, or sit not in the seat of mockers. For the wicked, the sinners and the mockers do not take the law of the Lord as delight, nor do they meditate the law day and night. So the Lord declare them as chaff that the wind blows away. They will not stand in the judgement nor in the assembly of the righteous. These two groups are strictly separated, the righteous does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, and the wicked will not stand in the assembly of the righteous.
What is interesting is that the righteous can choose whether to participate himself among the wicked, but the wicked can never choose to stand alongside with the righteous. That refers to the day of judgement. It is easy for the righteous to sin, but not easy for a sinner to come back. So the righteous should be very careful as to not to walk astray, or else it may not be that easy to turn back, and they become from the tree to chaff. Therefore says the Lord, For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Only one way is the way towards the celestial city. And the destinations of all the other ways are totally different, or say, the exact opposite, for there are in fact only two ways, to eternal life or to eternal death. May I be blessed and watched over by the Lord who will not spare the wickedness and let them perish!
