Jas 3:1-12 Taming the Tongue
We all stumble in many ways. (2) 原来我们在许多事上都有过失。(2) True enough. We stumble in many ways, follow our will, break his heart. One shouldn't consider himself as righteous before God, if one does so, one is only proving his arrogance and ignorance, and God will judge him for that. To admit is the first step. Admit that we all stumble in many ways, admit that we all need him, so that he can cleanse us and change us according to his will, which is always better than ours.
The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and itself set on fire by hell. (6) 舌头就是火,在我们百体中,舌头是个罪恶的世界,能污秽全身,也能把生命的轮子点起来,并且是从地狱里点茠滿C(6) Set on fire by hell. Beware of my tongue cause it is the spark which can lit up the whole forest. Watch me, Lord, show me my sin so that I can confess to You and please Your eyes. I don't want to be set on fire. Help me, Lord, I'll watch out for every word I say and may them, because of Your blessing, be the words of love.
Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? (11) 泉源从一个眼里能发出甜苦两帚漱吗?(11) The answer is no. So stop thinking I can keep good and bad habits at the same time considering it as normal. It is not pleasing in God's eyes, and will only trap us someday. Let my stream be fresh and lovely, I'm weak but You're strong. Hold me, Lord, and may I try hard to establish a stream of fresh water instead of an opposite one. Help me in every way because I can't do this alone.
