Book I: Psalm 8
Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!(9) 耶和华我们的主啊,你的名在全地何其美!(9)
So how did David proved that the Lord's name is majestic in all the earth? There are four reasons: First, the Lord have set his glory above the heavens. (1) Second, from the lips of the children and infants the Lord have ordained praise because of the Lord's enemies to silence the foe and the avenger. (2) Third, when David consider the Lord's heavens - the work of the Lord's fingers - the moon and the stars, which the Lord have set in place, (3) reminding him of how little men are. But as David exclaimed what is man that the Lord is mindful of, what is the son of man that the Lord cares for, yet, behold, the Lord made men a little lower than the heavenly beings, and crowned men with glory and honor. (4-5) We're little, so little, yet so large. Because the Lord lifts us up. He made men ruler over the works of his hands, and put everything under his feet, including all flocks and herds, beasts of the field, birds of the air, fish of the sea, and all that swim the paths of the seas. (6-8) How majestic the name of Lord our Lord is in all the earth!
