The parade was due to start at 11am and being that we were at the end of the route it was after noon before the Laker Franchise got to our end of Figueroa from the Staple Center.Most people where pretty cool and calm at the parade but of course there were the rowdy few who tried their best to make everyone else miserable as long as they where comfortable.There was one solitary Boston Celtics fan there who was getting it pretty badly by the whole crowd who jeered at him, "BOSON SUCKS!LAPD was there in full force however to my dismay they did absolutely nothing about the large amount of pot smoking by groups of grown men even when in their faces and the faces of children.After the Laker girls passed the Lakers with their family, friends, coaches and other staff on the buses and engines were right behind them.I doubt he was really a true Boston Fan since he was a the Laker Parade.We left home for the parade at ten am and walked through USC's campus and were at the corner of Figueroa and Jefferson a whole ten minutes later and the crowd was filled as far as you could see with Lakers fans in Laker jerseys, hats, pants, capes. I've never thought about going to any parade to celebrate a team's victory until Thursday nights win.The World Championship Lakers did it again and won the NBA championship title for the sixteenth time on Thursday June 17th.My son is a huge Laker Fan and there is no way we would miss it the parade since we just so happen to currently live steps away from USC, which is where the parade route ends.As soon as Kobe Bryant was seen the by crowd holding the trophy up high the crown started chanting MVP!Finally some time after noon the Lakers girls start arriving on a Double Decker bus and on fire engines.The turn out for the parade was light for what I'd expect it to be at Figueroa and Jefferson but as it got later in the afternoon the crowd got more and more dense.It was hard to see with so many people there and lots of people had their kids on their shoulders so the view wasn't great if you were on level ground but if you had a video camera like we did and several others did then you just held it up high, hit record, zoomed in and watched the parade from your viewfinder.

It was a fun day and other than a few overboard fans the parade was fun and safe for everyone.Luckily the majority of the people there were much better behaved.The street vendors kept the fans hydrated with plenty of water, and Gatorade vendors.Derek Fisher stood in front of Kobe and he had his left hand in the air and help up one finger to let us know the, yes the Lakers are number one once again.

The crowd tried a lazy wave a couple of times but it didn't seem to work out no matter how many times attempted it but the crowd was having a great time anyway.The energy was magnificent and everyone was happy.I did say capes because there was a man dressed like superman or more accurately Super Lakerman.Monday June 21, 2010 was the day of the parade and the celebration was huge.The actual parade was very short once it arrived and it didn't seem to last more than ten minutes but it was worth the wait for many of us fans.If you were a daring person you could buy a hot dog wrapped in bacon for $00 that was being cooked on the street on what appeared to be a make shift open griddle.
