|Class Popularity of Blade & Soul
|Something along the lines I would have guessed aswell. I mean, playing ranged dps (well, all classes are dps in this game) in a game with so complex and action packed combat system (mainly for melee) kinda makes you miss out BNS Gold. It's kinda why esper was the least popular class during the launch of wildstar; ranged class that had to stand still to cast bunch of the spells, in a game where running (mainly dodging) and gunning were the main aspects of the combat.
On the other hand summor is generally seen as the easiest class to play and despite the class being so "kawai" it shares alot of aspects with your general wow-like hunter spec by being a mobile ranged dps class with a pet and pockets full of utility.
Assassin should do fine in group PvP since you are still focusing down one person in the end albeit being they are a tad squishy so you have to be careful not to get double team of sorts.
That's essentially it. High skill ceiling and good coordination with your team and you will be perfectly fine. Granted in some respects there are other classes that kinda put out the similar damage while not being as mechanically difficult as the assassin.
But, I also know that this is an MMORPG in which I'm going to be playing with others. I'm not worried of being snubbed, I just want to know that I'm not holding anyone back. I don't mind a class that requires high levels of skill/learning, but I do hope that if I can master it I'll be rewarded in all aspects of the game (Solo PvE/PvP and Group PvE/PvP).
They do fine damage CC/DMG/AoE(probably one of the best AoE classes at that) It's just the nature of the pew pew pew class in comparison to the general martial arts aspect of the Blade-Soul Gold. Granted I believe they are one of the harder classes to PvP with(squishy and not too many defense mechanics) Plus it technically has some competition with Warlock in terms of being the flashy mage.
|The controversial thing in Blade & Soul
|For NA that was the most controversial thing they did (also the amazing disappearing statue nips, but those came back), in most cases this meant adding poorly implemented "modesty spats" to outfits that didn't have them before, as well as mid-riff covering in some cases. This had a far larger impact on some classes when compared to others due to the differing styles each Class's armor typically took (casters were generally hit the worst, see above).
After a certain patch (I'm not sure which, it was after I stopped playing the first time, but before I started playing again recently) it seems something convinced them to stop altering outfits, so any outfits that came out after that patch are un-fucked with, but stuff prior to that patch has not been restored to their original state, so you have to do that yourself.
Based an entirely informal unscientific survey of people playing the game (i.e. idling waiting for raid matching using the dance command), even during an event dedicated to the release of a non-elin playable class, the number of Elin's being played is uh...quite significant and disproportional given the number of available race choices.
So if I had to guess the impetus to ultimately stop dicking around with BNS Gold was partly monetary (it ain't free to alter new outfits every patch), partly time based (see the part about it not being free, but with time), and partly "jesus christ why are elins such a huge part of the paying playerbase" and all that implies.
Allegedly for the EU release they tried to remove all the blood and an entire 5 man dungeon (Sinestral Manor) as a result of that original blood removal decision but got shouted at a lot. I have been unable to verify that claim so take it with a grain of salt.
|I Love Blade & Soul So Much
|I played Tera until a little before the brawler patch, I got the "master of time & space" title and dropped the game completely as a main PvE'er I felt I had nothing more to do. I loved the combat, I mained Lancer and its the most fun I've had in a game for a long time. Dungeons in Tera is where the game shines, very good fights with plenty of great mechanics, they keep everyone on their toes atleast until you overgear stuff, I think BnS doesnt give you that experience. That feeling you get when you kill Darkan HM, yeah not sure, I have yet to experience this in BnS but I honestly have faith it will happen.
I will admit I'm a BnS noob since I just started to play on CBT2, but my impressions of the game were very good right with Blade-Soul Gold, I played only KFM to 45 and Assassin to 23, other classes in the 15 ish'es.
Started as an Assassin and man was I having fun, the combat requires precise timing, and a sequences of skills gives you sometimes different results than other sequences of skills, it makes you feel like youre playing a fighting game instead of an MMO. This was new to me, the combat was fast, required skill, and it punishes you if you dont perform correctly, I'm not using the word "punish" in a negative light btw, I actually love this.
My second class was a Kung Fu Master, I actually dropped my Assassin at 23 because I though well, I should try other stuff, and I loved KFM instantly, KFM is a VERY punishing class when it comes to ping and timings, but its so rewarding when you land things just in time. I use to hate PvP but that changed in this game, yeah I suck, but I have so much fun with KFM that it doesnt matter.
BnS follows several staple formulas used in MMO's, Questing, gear grind, etc. But the combat is SO GOOD, that it doesnt matter, if you get some Blade And Soul Power leveling. It carries the whole game.
TLDR: Tera and BnS similarities end with them being both MMO's from korean devs, BnS combat is so good it carries the game. I prefer BnS I', having so much fun.
Edit: By the way what I meant with no RNG costumes was, theres no RNG boxes in the store that you buy for the chance of a costume akin to gambling
|Blade & Soul Story Topics
|That's more a question of how the material is presented. When a story addresses topics like violence, sexuality, social issues, personal matters in a manner that actually looks at them sincerely and establishes commentary about their nature, that's always welcome. There are plenty of quests in B&S which delve into the morality or impact of unpleasant actions in a relevant manner.
For example, the murder of the majority of the Hongmoon School, as you referenced. That entire scene gives the right amount of gravity to the content - it is shown as being a reprehensible act and the events that follow because of it explore themes and consequences of revenge, forgiveness, and personal obligation. It's presented in an entirely different manner than just glorifying violence for its own sake, or using violence purely for shock value or as a cheap gag. Simply presenting objectionable material at face value without offering commentary as to its nature or implications doesn't serve any positive purpose - it's just furthering the existence of that objectionable material and could even be misconstrued as being endorsed by whoever presented it in the first place.

They shouldn't be listening to them but that quote makes it obvious they're indoctrinated into "critical theory", and carry water for these factions who hate the customers they're supposed to be serving.
In other words, they're in that job not to faithfully provide an accurate gaming experience, they're there to impose their "right-think" on us "dirty, misogynistic" gamers!
|Item Transfers Off High Queue Servers
|We’ve received an overwhelming number of requests from players requesting their item transfers from Mushin or Windrest to a new server and we thank you for your patience for going through the process with us to improve the overall game experience.
We initially offered the item transfer option to help players start a new character on a new server because Mushin and Windrest had a disproportionate number of players thus creating a high queue during early access. Now that the game has officially launched and through various efforts the population on our servers are fairly balanced, we are closing the option to transfer items from Mushin or Windrest to a new character on a different server on 12 PM PST (8 PM UTC) Wednesday, January 20.
If you are interested in moving your items from Mushin or Windrest, please submit your request before 12 PM PST (8 PM UTC) Wednesday, January 20. Existing requests and new requests before the deadline will be honored and processed. Our Support team has helped numerous players through this manual transfer and will assist you on yours as soon as they can get more Blade And Soul Items. We thank you for your patience!
The response to Blade & Soul’s Head Start has been amazing, and we’re thankful to see so many players logging into and enjoying the game. As some of you may know, the servers Mushin (NA) and Windrest (EU) have very long queues, which can mean hours of waiting to log in and play. While other servers are nearing cap and have a healthy concurrency, they haven’t quite seen queues yet, and we’re highly encouraging players who are not committed to a particular server to recreate their characters elsewhere to avoid long wait times to log in to the game.
Many of you have expressed a desire to move off Mushin and Windrest, but have concerns about losing Founder’s Pack items and anything already purchased with NCoin. If you are on Mushin or Windrest and interested in starting on a new server, you can open a support ticket under Gameplay and we’ll be able to help you manually transfer your Founder’s Pack items to a new character.
These manual Founder’s Pack item and name transfers will do the following:
Transfer your Founder’s Pack items onto your new character.
Refund any NCoin spent on purchased items (except gifted items and Premium Membership, which is account-wide) so you may repurchase your items on the new character.
Rename your new character to be the same as your previous character.
Delete your Mushin/Windrest character that had your original Founder’s Pack and NCoin items.
The transfer will not copy over gained levels, non-Founder’s Pack gear/items, or any forms of character progression. If there are other items you would like to move on your characters, please do not start the request process until you are comfortable.
If you’d like to begin a manual item and name transfer process, please do the following:
Create a character on a non-locked server (see schedule here). You can safely begin leveling and playing your new character immediately.
Submit a request into Customer Support under the category "Gameplay" that you would like to transfer your character off Mushin/Windrest, provide your old character name and server, and the new character and server where the Founder’s Pack items and name will be transferred.
This is a one-time request for characters on Mushin/Windrest, and will only be offered until 12 PM PST (8 PM UTC), Wednesday, January 20. We’ll provide an update if this offer will be extended and when we’re no longer offering these manual Founder’s Pack and name transfers for Mushin/Windrest.
Please be aware that due to this being a manual process, it will take some time to receive and complete your request, and we appreciate your patience. While you wait you can level up your new character normally, and expect everything to be transferred as we take requests in the order in which they can get Cheap BNS Gold. You will receive an update on your ticket when the request has been completed.
