1. Bring the essentials. This being your number one friend during these times - umbrella! Big or small, ensure that you have them all packed up along with your traveling paraphernalia. Consider throwing a raincoat in if upon checking the weather reports and history of the place, you've been told that you would be bound to encounter some heavy rains.
 
2. Pack light clothing. Forget about denims and heavy clothes. Choose wash-and-wear ones that are functional and dry easily. If you have plans to do some heavy activities while on vacation, invest on rain-proof shoes that are reliable and would protect your feet against moist environment. Opt for dark-colored staples so it would be easier admire the sceneries without worrying about mud and dirt.
 
3. Carry a bottle of water. Proven to ease any type of discomfort like dizziness, nausea or upset tummies, it never hurts to bring one especially if you are in a foreign land.
 
4. First-aid kit, forget-me-not! Include anti-allergies and protective creams in your checklist. Remember that the rain brings out mosquitoes so it's better to be safe than sorry. From bandages and alcohol, bug sprays to long-sleeved shirts and pants, keep yourself protected from all types of insect bites.
 
5. Waterproof your backpack. Put all your belongings inside a plastic bag and slid it inside your backpack. In this way, your personal items such as camera and mobile phone would be protected from moisture.
