Buckingham Palace this month 分類: link blog

Of course, the media in their own defense would claim that there was not wasn't anything good or interesting to write about those other candidates, but that's not a legitimate rational since they didn't write anything negative either and there were plenty of skeletons in his closet as well, more so, but any stretch of the imagination. Well, this sort of media bias and shenanigans doesn't just happen here, its been happening all over.

Not long ago, I was discussing all this with an acquaintance, albeit what's happening in the UK right now. My acquaintance stated; "I wonder if this is going to come to the US or if this is where the UK got this idea. Buckingham Palace this month and behind closed doors created the Privy Council which signed away rights of its citizens by creating a new, government backed press watchdog through royal charter. Newspapers will now have to submit to the judgments of the new body on their reporting or face steep fines."

Right now we see the media finally turning a corner on President Obama, which is typical, the media builds you up and then burns you down, and the more they build you into a 10-foot tall character of the human endeavor the further you have to fall too. Is this what will become of President Obama's reputation in his last term and into his retirement?

Why is this happening in the UK right now? Well, most likely due to Rupert Murdoch's phone hacking scandal my acquaintance believes, I think she might be right on that. Still, even if the media is often rotten to the core (not always) what about their checks-and-balances to keep the political apparatus in check? At times it seems the media is more powerful than all the branches of government here in the US.

The concept of "never letting a crisis go to waste" when it comes to the UK media scandal is being used by authorities to control the message in the media, and without a free-media, that's a scary thing. Of course, if the media lies or becomes pro-agenda regardless of what direction, that's scary too. I don't trust the media or anything I read, regardless of source. If it doesn't fit with my understanding and observations, I dig deeper.

Some nations which control the media are able to do more on their agenda for pushing their nations forward, but freedom and liberty suffers, and that's unfortunate for humans enjoying their life experience. Of course, most humans are problematic and lie themselves so, to hell with them, it's almost as if they don't deserve the freedom in the first place?

Whenever there is a crisis - hackers, scammers, copyright pirates - the government uses that to further control the flow of information. That's too bad, and something that I personally am bothered by, because I like information.
