Like most beauty gurus, each day I used makeup remover,
then follow by the daily 3 step routine of wash, tone & moisturise.
Then there’s weekly exfoliating and applying masksss.
I choose my makeup & skin products carefully.
I follow a healthy diet and a healthy sleeping pattern.
So how is it that I’m still getting small bumps and breakout on my skin so often?
Just last week, I was discussing this problem with my aesthetician when she asked my 3 questions….
Do you use brush to apply makeup? ……. Yes
How often do you clean your brush? …….. Mmmm, once every feeeew mths
How do you clean your brush? ……. Mmmmm, sometimes with wet wipe and sometimes with shampoo.

Most of my little bumps are on my cheek areas. This is where I apply blush everyday.
It been a long time (over 6mths) since I’ve last cleaned my blush brush.
My brush must be super dirty and full of bacteria.
Eeerrrr.... I was triggered to have my all brushes clean ASAP.
Next question , which cleanser would be most suitable?
Solution: Shu Uemura Brush Cleaner
Shu Uemura Brush Cleaner has been highly recommended by many beauty blogger.
I was so happy to have found this product. It is so easy to use and no residues are left behind.
Just with simple dipping and dabbing and my brushes are clean in no time and no damage to my brushes.
Let's Get To Work!
Direction of use:
- Pour an appropriate amount of Brush Cleaner into a Brush Cleaning Cup or a glass container.
- Dip the tip of the brush into the liquid. Only allow max. half of the brush into the liquid.
- Lightly dab the brush with a cloth or a tissue paper.
- Reshape bristle and allow for air dry lying flat.
Recommend to place a tissue lightly on top to prevent dust.
Note:
Special care must been taken to ensure brush handle do not touch liquid or water,
as this could cause wood to crack.
I used almost half a bottle for this clean.
For my loose powder brush, blush brush and foundation brush,
I had t repeat the process 3 times.
Because Shu Uemura Brush Cleaner contains alcohol,
it not only removes colours & grease, it also has a sterilizing effect.
