i saw thee’ weep 
 我 見 過 你 哭
 the big bright tear
 晶 瑩 的 淚 珠
 came over that eye of blue
 從 蓝 眼 睛 滑 落
 and then methought it did appear
 像 一 朵 梦 中 出 現 的 紫 羅 蘭
 a violet dropping dew
 滴 下 清 透 的 露 珠
 i saw thee'’smile
 我 見 過 你 笑
 the sapphire's blaze
 連 蓝 寶 石 的 光 芒
 beside thee' ceased to shine
 也 因 你 而 失 色
 it could not match the living rays
 它 怎 能 比 得 上 你 疑 視 的 眼 神 中
 that filled that glance of thine
 閃 現 的 靈 活 光 彩
 as clouds from yonder sun receive
 就 如 同 夕 陽 為 遠 方 的 雲 朵
 a deep and mellow dye
 染 上 絢 爛 的 色 彩
 which scarce the shade of coming eve
 緩 緩 而 來 的 暮 色 也 不 能
 can banish from the sky
 將 霞 光 逐 出 天 外
 those smiles unto the moodiest mind
你 的 笑 容 讓 沉 悶 的 心 靈
 their own pure joy  impart
 分 享 純 真 的 歡 樂
 their sunshine leaves a glow behind
 這 陽 光 留 下 了 一 道 光 芒
 that lightens over the heart
 照 亮 了 心 靈 上 空
