Time passes so so so so fast!!!!

You know, last time on Wordpress talked about Infinium projects and FSM disk fault, now is already mid of 2021 and ACSC hardware installation is done!

What has changed?

DSAJ used 824A, B, then 924. Power 740 is gone.

DSF has threw away their P740, and using P9009 now with VIOS... please i hope will have NO errors

Anyway... we need to learn Teradata and focusing on MVS now. Logo items will become more and more useless...

Today starts the 5000+3000 government supporting funds. Good beginning!

However, HEAVY rained and caused many places to be water soaking, what a "good" way to start June...

11 years ago, I shall be going back to Macau very soon (or already there) for summer holiday.

I missed my Daddy, our days at NIU with Kevin, Sira, and Justin. It is just not the same anymore, after SO MANY years.

I thought I need to work hard to be happy. But I neglect the fact that my loved ones are getting old :( Happiness is SO HARD to come by these days.

Yes, work pays good however, this is only temporarily... once AI, cloud and MVS stuff kicks in, IBM will be so hard to work for...

Anyway, this is my summary for May so far:

1. May 8th and 15th are chess dates, fun but my skills suck

2. Started on May 4th there are tennis classes, also good to learn the correct posture

3. Watched "Cautious, Hazadous wife" and eat good chicken food on May 14th. (Friday)

4. Finished IHM PTF upgrade by image catelog (on May 22nd) and fixed controller problem on May 23rd

5. Finished DS8884 MES Disk installation for SCC and Parisian, upgraded disk firmware to E1A8 and 200F

6. Upcoming tasks, memory replacement for IFT and Disk Backplane for Huawei, DVD ROM for IHM

Some more about life:

1. Tennis starting May 4th, will be every Tuesday and Friday, 8:30 - 10:30pm (May 4th rain, so only Friday has class, good learning so far)

2. Need to do more swimming and running, I got to practice chess a lot these 2 months!

3. Work almost complete, major task below:

Repairment:

a) DSF V7000 node2 (Completed)

b) IHM PTF and software (Schedule May 22nd)

c) AirMacau batteries and VRM (Schedule after May 15th)

d) Tape library to rejoin MA (MasterMacau) (Awaiting customer)

Life:

Project Manager for Boardware or stay at IBM? I prefer IBM for now (Confirmed Boardware salary cannot match, stay at IBM)

Pros for change:

1. Learn PM skills, get years experience, change role start young

2. Good salary growth

3. No more night shift, no more OT, not much in-depth technical learning

Cons:

1. Need to wear business attire to meetings

2. Lots of projects to perform planning

3. Might not be able to stay long

Pros for stay:

1. Comfort zone, helping the team, especially Wind Lou

2. Casual life work from home

Cons:

1. Almost dead end job

2. Lots of unknown in the future and OT

So basically, celebrated my dinner with fat ling on April 27th at Fantasia. OK food, but the oysters suck

I actually really appreciated my wife to do so much - ordering the cake, book for present, and a fancy restaurant - all PAID by her. I should be very happy and enjoy, right? Yet that night we fought so hard, its so strange.

I was trying to write a blog on instagram. My reaction is tired and ask her to help, and she refused since she prepared EVERYTHING, and I have not show appreciation and trying to use her.

So today (28th), the 6th floor has started re-decorated in order to drain the water, and I got things done too!

SInce I knew fat ling, was I being good or bad? Did I get better or worse? I always think about myself... so I am considering the following:

THE GOOD:

1. Show me good movies on psychology like soul (Rare)

2. Companion for travelling and eating fancy restaurants (common)

3. Many birthdays together (common)

THE BAD:

1. Not knowing a lot of common sense, wasted energy to keep teaching her (IQ)

2. Not having a good body and sometimes I have to seek elsewhere (Body)

3. Attitude too rough in order to have a thinkful conversation, many things are just too simple for her (IQ)

So.... its already April 18th of 2021, this year passes so fast, and it feels im getting so old....

Lets talk about what I have done so far...

Work:

Education: Registered for PM class, Completed 4 badges, Lenovo x 86 foundation + experienced, AI + Cloud foundation. 

Work: Finish installation for DS8884 + Power 8 for Venetian Macau, DSF Installation also completed by Ben, which I helped a lot during the process

Pending task: FSS Relocation, DSF tape drive and LUSO power 7 inspection to rejoin MA. BOCM installation for P9 and Storage. Terdata education classes, CSP going live on June 26th...

Misc: Wifi egg gone on 5/31, we all get iPhone 12 for work phone with 20GB data. No more cell phone reimbursement...

Life:

Ran a 10km on April 11th, finished 1 hour 11 mins

Finished watching "Attach on Titan" 1-16, which is still incomplete... Watched Soul, GOOD MOVIE

Instagram Follower now at 260,  up from 255. 

Chess still suck... 3rd year tournament on Oct 9th

Registered for Tennis classes starting May 4th

I guess its the same plan, keep learning, and stay alive, haha!

Back to work... 10km run on April 11th 7:30, which is tomorrow. Wished me luck!

SO much work needs to be done now, even Hong Kong and Macau inventory has to be done by us... wtf? Did you increase our salary?

Played tennis almost a year (since June 2020), let's hope I will keep getting better and better and learn new things in 2021!

So... April has started and BOCM has a severity 1 call for Lenovo server! We are just working so hard to keep up the market now... Stanley please don't destroy our morale anymore

So finally the Venetian and DSF project are over, just need to do more simple tasks for Venetian (Quiesce the cards, add Flash,etc) and will be all done!

As of March 29th 2am, my IG follower jumped from 217 to 256 ;) Proud of myself! Keep going!

I am very happy to have people to help on the project, all hardware are delivered and will be installed on 17th (Parisian) and 24th (SCC). All things are going very smooth! Cables have helper, the firmware is up-to-date, thank god!
