Ch. 1 Meadow Magic

As usual, I am surfing on the internet, checking Gossip updates about the Hollywood stars. So boring, I think.

Steve was going out with his friends and Mom, chatting with Mrs. Khan outside the courtyard.

It is spring break now. For many reasons, I did not hang out to friends, just stay at home--- doing homework or self-study.

It is already 1030. I know Mom and Steve are going to leave soon. The best thing my parents owed, they seldom bother. I could have my free time for the whole day unlike others in our town, Jacksonville.

“Kris, I am going out with Ralph now. Also, Nicole is going to leave too. She has a meeting in Seattle at night. Please take care. Bye.” I am right. They are going to leave.

“Okay. Have fun.” I am upstairs but I still heard the front door slightly bang off. I look down through the window to check whether they had gone or not.

They had gone.

I keep on searching on the internet. Megan Fox, Brad Pitt, Nicole Richie…

The news is not new actually while I keep refreshing the web page. I hate this kind of feeling growing in my heart. I cannot stand with this anymore. I decide to go out to have a walk. Having a walk is better than sitting on the gossip websites.

I start the engine of my old car, Volvo. It had been years that Steve had driven it.

But I don’t care how old it is, the main point is--- It still works.

I drove down the road. A weird shop appeared at the end of the road. I parked outside and get out the car.

Meadow Magic? Sounds like a fortune- teller shop.

I walk in the shop. The decorations in the shop shocked me. Black sofa, Purple curtain... Things are going a little bit strange.

“You finally come.” A weak voice spoke. I was scared and confused. Who is she?

“Excuse me, um… who are you? You know me?” I saw her sitting behind the beads curtain. I can hardly see her face. Her face is covered by the hook.

 “I know you better than anyone in the world. Come, and sit down.” It’s a joke right? How can she know me? I sat down in front of the curtain. There is a cupboard aside with a crystal ball.

“Your life is going to change. Everything happens around you is like a dream,” What is she talking about? My life will change?

“You can hardly believe that now, you will believe me soon.” Right, I am now confused about her word. I cannot understand any of her word.

“Um…Can you explain it deeply? And you did not answer my question! Who are you?” I am furious now. My life is very normal and peaceful. How could it change?

“I tell you. I am Kristina Hudson. This is a fact and it will never change.”

I just cannot understand! I am angry and confused. I went out and slammed the door. I started the engine and drove back to home in 100km/hr. Why she knows me? Who is she? There are so many question marks in my head.
