U.S. solar companies First Solar9 August said it plans to build in China, the world's largest solar power plant. According to the Chinese government signed a memorandum of understanding, First Solar will be in China's Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to build a 2GW of power, enough to provide electricity to about 300 million households.

First Solar will begin construction in June 2010 the first phase of 30 MW demonstration project, the second and third phase of the project will be 100 MW and 870 MW in 2014. Last one of 1000 MW will be built by the year 2019.
