There are wireless backup camera kits which you can use to help avoid accidents and injuries when backing-up. The kit comes with a 3.5 inch wide-angle monitor. The monitor mounts on the dash or on the visor of your RV, SUV or delivery vehicle. The camera mounts adjacent to the rear license plate. The package comes complete with all the parts you need.

1. Choose the location for the monitor. It shouldn't obstruct your view when driving. Temporarily place the monitor at the location you have chosen and plug the power cable into the cigarette lighter or the 12V power socket.

2. Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol and let dry. Stick the monitor stand down on the dash with the hook and loop fastener.

3. Mount the camera using the rear license plate's top or bottom screws.

4. Route the power cable to the reversing light circuit. You could try to pass it through an existing opening, such as the license plate light housing, but you may have to drill a hole. If you drill a hole, check what's behind first and use the rubber grommet that came in the kit.

5.Remove a reversing light bulb from its socket and remove the socket. Use the Scotch-lok to connect the power cable positive (red) to the colored wire in the reversing light circuit and the negative (black) to the black negative in the circuit. Follow the written Scotch-lok instructions.

6. Replace the bulb and socket.

7. Engage the hand-brake. Turn the Car monitor on and place the vehicle in reverse.

8. Look at the monitor and check the orientation of the image. It should match your rear view mirror.

9. Disengage the handbrake and reverse the vehicle. You should be able to reverse the vehicle without driving into anything by looking at the monitor and not the rear-view mirror. Adjust the brightness and contrast on the monitor. Take it slowly in the beginning.
