fold this loose two-inch edge (away from you or in a north direction if you like)
sothat the fold line is at the edge of the flat card box.
next fold up the first and second sections of the box form away from
you.You will notice that you will not be able to fold the first section flat but
only to about a 90 degree angle.this is designed on purpose. continue fold-ing
until the edge of the first section of yhe form touches the table.
grip the box form above as if you were holding a deck of
cards form above.keeping it in contact with the table,move it forward (away
from you) until you can feel that the lower edge of the form meets the edge of
the last section (which is still flat on the table). you now have what roughly
resembles a box shape.
while using on hand to hold the box form together,use your other
hand to straighten the loose fabric on one side.switch hands(if necessary)to
straighten the other side.
continue to roll up the handkerchief away from you until the edge of
the fabric meets the edge of the box form and you can roll no further.
again,straighten and smooth the fabric on either side of the box
form.
fold up the left and right sides of the handkerchief onto the top of
the box form until they meet in the middle.keep it nice and tight.
while holding the ends together(at the base).use your other hand to
tie the string supplied arond the ends.it is best to wind it around a couple
of times(as low as possible and near to the top of the form)before tying a
loose knot.
there you have it,a nice handkerchief par cel that looks as if it holds a deck of
cards.
here are some extra tips yo convince people that there really is a deck of
cards in there.Mark use of sound uring your performances.tap firmly the
bundled hanky on the table or with your fingers as you mention the beck is
inside.A nice solid sound is heard.When you come to unroll the hanky,it is
best to manually unroll it instead of gripping one edge and lifting straight up to
have it unroll.Grip the box form and turn it over each time.When you come
to the moment where the deck will not be seen as you unroll it,you must focus
all your attention to that vacant spot.You must truly believe youself that an
existent deck as such,your audience will believe it too.Make sure you remove
the invisible deck(by gripping the sides)from exactly the same sace it occu-
pied.Use your imagination.Don't tie too tight a knot with the string or you will
struggle to untie it.
