Remember when we reported on the rumors
about Akanishi Jin’s Hollywood debut?
Well, as it turns out, he didn’t land a role in
“Pirates of the Caribbean 4“, but he did pass
an audition for his very first Hollywood movie.
Nikkan Sports announced earlier today that
Jin will make his debut in the movie “47 Ronin“,
which also stars Keanu Reeves.
Jin will join fellow Japanese stars Sanada Hiroyuki,
Tadanobu Asano, Kikuchi Rinko, and singer Shibasaki Kou.
He will play the son of “Oishi Chikara” (Sanada),
the leader of the “47 Ronin” and friend to “Kai” (Reeves).
Jin, who toured the States last year,
garnered a ton of attention from J-pop fans,
since he’s the first Johnny’s talent to
ever perform musically on U.S. soil.
Although he’s a popular household name
within the J-pop community, he’s virtually unknown in Hollywood.
Jin says that the music and acting world are borderless,
and so without destroying his stance,
he’d like to plow through and play an active part.
