Scene 1 I'm not fit!
Blue Joe is a cute penguin, but he is not fit. He likes eating and sleeping. He is lazy and gets tired very easily. One afternoon Blue Joe was sitting on a bench in the playground. He was watching his schoolmates play basketball. Blue Joe was unhappy. He sat alone and thought to himself. "I wish I could play basketball with them, but I'm not fast enough. They won't let me join them."
Cha-cha: Hi, Blue Joe. You look unhappy. What's worrying you?
Blue Joe: Cha-cha, I want to play with them.
Cha-cha: Go ahead! What's the problem, my friend?
Blue Joe: I'm not fit. I can only play basketball for five minutes before I get tired. After that, I can't run and I want to take a rest. I'm afraid that they won't let me join in.
Cha-cha: You can join them when you're fit. SO, you must keep fit. You must not eat too much junk food. Blue Joe: Yes, but….
Cha-cha: Put that chocolate bar away! You should eat more vegetables and fruits instead. Stop eating snacks and fast food. Do more exercise!
Blue Joe: Yes, but I like chocolate and I hate exercise!
Cha-cha: Oh no! You will never be fit if you eat lots of chocolate and do not exercise
Blue Joe: Okay, I'll try.
Scene 2 The Big Race Notice
The next day, after the English lesson, Blue Joe walked near the sports room.
He looked at all the fit students jumping and running. Then he looked at his big tummy. The tuck shop was nearby! Blue Joe was really hungry. Though he was hungry for chocolate, he told himself that he must not even think about it."I must not have any chocolate. Then one day I will be fit." Then he saw a group of students outside the sports room. They were all looking at a small piece of paper.
Blue Joe: Here comes my chance. I will take part in the Big Race. I can get fit and I might even win. All the other students laughed.
Student 1: Our big chocolate-eater is going to run?
Student 2: But Blue Joe, you'll need years to run around the forest!
Blue Joe was unhappy. Cha-cha passed by and heard the laughs. She came near and encouraged Joe.
Cha-cha: Blue Joe, don't be sad. I'll stand by you.
Gagawu: But how could Cha-cha beat Spider Tom?
Cookie: Yes, Tom runs every day!
Cha-cha: If Clue Joe works hard, he will win. I 'm sure.
Blue Joe: Thank you, Cha-cha. Blue Joe was happy and confident now. He went straight to Mr. Popken's room.
Blue Joe: Good afternoon, Mr. Popken. Mr. Popken: Hello, Blue Joe. Can I help you?
Blue Joe: Mr. Popken, I want to join the Big Race!
Mr. Popken: Are you sure, Joe? You have only two weeks to prepare.
Blue Joe: I will try my best! I will work hard!
Mr. Popken: Okay, I'll put your name down on the list.

Scene 3 Prepare for the race
The next day, Blue Joe got up early. He looked at himself in a mirror and thought.
"There's not much time left. Today I'll go for a run!" Joe's mother and father looked very surprised when they saw him.
Dad: It's the first time he got up so early.
Mum: Good morning, Joe. You are early this morning!
Dad: Yes, and you're in sports clothes. Are you going to jog?
Blue Joe: Not only jog, I'll jump and swim as well. I must prepare for the Big Race.
Mum: Do you want to have some breakfast first?
Blue Joe: Yes, please! Can I have fruit, mum? Both Joe's father and mother were surprised!
Mum: Joe, why don't you want chocolate cake this morning?
Blue Joe: No chocolate cake for me, thanks. I'm on a diet! After breakfast, Blue Joe walked out of his house. He went through the forest to the beach.
On the beach he worked very hard. He swam in the sea. He ran along the sand. He jumped up and down. He stretched his whole body.Soon he was very tired, so he went home to prepare for school. At school, Blue Joe did not eat any chocolate. He only ate vegetables for lunch. His friends were shocked!
Gagawu: Are you feeling alright, Blue Joe?
Blue Joe: I'm okay. Thank you.
Cookie: Are you on a diet?
Blue Joe: Yes, I'm preparing for the Big Race!
Cha-cha: Blue Joe! One day of preparing is not enough. Keep working!
Blue Joe: Yes, you're right. Thank you. Tomorrow I will run again!
