Since the chain recently posted 分類: 生活记事

Chipotle has been buzzing all over the news lately, first for removing GMOs from its menu, then testing chorizo at select locations, and after that for completely changing its tortilla recipe. The company has also reached cult status, heralding "guac is extra" into the mainstream, and fueling our taco-filled dreams since 2006. But from a business perfective, the chain is actually not doing so hot.

According to Barron's, Chipotle is underperforming and the Tex-Mex mania is mellowing out. Since the chain recently posted lower-than-expected sales reports, analysts at the investment site said Chipotle's shares have gone from "a mouthful of jalapeños for short sellers" in January to cooling off by 20 percent this quarter. And though stock prices peaked at $727 a piece earlier this year, they've steadily fallen since.

Does this mean fans will soon follow the stocks and start fizzling out? Or are we all too obsessed with our beloved burrito mecca to ever let that happen?
