在思考•真正思考。
With most things we can't shake how the past has shaped what we are today, and why should we?
It made us what we are- warts and all.
I love looking back and remembering the old days with rose tinted glasses like the next man OR woman.
The thing I believe we need is a level of perspective though.
Degrees in which we let history dictate tomorrow are important. I'm talking about radio now of course.
You don't have to dig very deep or look very far before you find someone commenting on how things are "not like they used to be", either in person or online I suppose.
Radio isn't alone in that I guess, but it seems closer to the surface perhaps?
Maybe it's because as an industry we actually move quite quickly compared with others at times, so the "yesterday" is sometimes literally that in some instances!
The truth is that when some things are "not like they used to be", it's because the environment in which things exist (and which dictated how "things were"), also isn't "as it used to be".
Put simply, things aren't how they used to be because everything isn't how it once was!
So, are you going to be a forward thinking, progressive type person, or a retrospective type?
When you start working , do you keep referencing things you did in the school and mentioning the old place?
"I remember in the old place we did..."- your new work colleagues will put up with it for a while before quietly becoming tired of it.
Are you focussed on "this day a year ago...", or actually on this actual day in this actual year, also known as... today?
When things change, is your first reaction how different it is from what you did before?
Change your outlook. The one constant you can rely on in the future is "change".
I'm not saying that we should start every day as if everything in the past was therefore crap and we have to re-invent everything either.
I do get annoyed when we try and reinvent the wheel when it really isn't required,
and perhaps we should spend the time and energy working on what we will do with the wheel now we have it.
Its really great to meet a new friend who seems understand me.
I am going to lay down something which make me felt unable to take a resigned attitude...
Those things affect me a lot, they seem controlling me in my mine.
Ms ChanKM.. take it easy.. TRY TO LAY DOWN AGAIN!
PAST IS PAST , ITS TIME TO MOVE ON :>
