名字被寫在死亡筆記上的人會死亡
This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing has/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
寫名字者腦海中如對被寫者的臉孔沒有記憶，筆記的功能將會無效。因此，
同名同姓者將不會受影響
If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.
寫上姓名後，如在40秒內寫明死因，事件便會按所寫的發生
If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack.
如未寫上死因，則全部會死於心臟麻痺
After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
寫上死因後，接著會有6分40秒時限，用作記述詳細死亡狀況
This note shall become the property of the human world, once it touches the ground of (arrives in) the human world.
此筆記落在人類世界地面那刻開始，即成為人類之物件
The owner of the note can recognize the image and voices of its original owner, i.e. a god of death.
持有人能識別筆記原主死神的樣貌及聲音
The human who uses this note can neither go to Heaven nor Hell.
用過此筆記的人類，將不能上天堂或下地獄
