We are pleased to invite you to our exciting upcoming concert 'Twin Cellists at the Opera' at the Elder Hall, Adelaide at 2.30pm on Sunday 10th August, 2008.
This is a benefit concert to help raise funds and support for the next Adelaide International Cello Festival. The inaugural festival was held in April this year and the Artistic Director, Janis Laurs, plans for it to be a triennial event. We look forward to 2011!
'Twin Cellists at the Opera' will be a special occasion with a unique programme which includes two arias by Donizetti and Bizet arranged for two cellos and piano and two Beethoven Variations for cello and piano based on Mozart's 'Magic Flute' and Handel's 'Judas Maccabaus'.
The afternoon concert will be balanced with Beethoven Sonatas, Op.5 No.2 in g minor and Op.69 in A major.
Ticket prices: Adult $45, Concession $30, Student $15
By the way, we are excited to tell you our debut CD "Phoenix Story" has been released in Australia and was chosen as "CD of the Week" by ABC Classic FM. The CDs will be available for sale on the day at the special concert price of $26.
