Is it just me or is there more and more musicals being shown on screen lately?
Hairspray, Across the Universe, and the recent Sweeny Todd.
But among all that I've seen, this one, Once, had me genuinely moved.
I don't dig musicals much. Singing and acting just don't collaborate well all the time.
But Once is different. Songs are sung so naturally, and they are real good.
Music, dream, and most importantly, an unrequited love.
It's just amazing how much is achieved with the amatuerish photography,
sometime random dialogue, natural light filming and all.
It's the beauty of imperfection that's grasping me so much.
