GLC-T Copper Small Form Pluggable (SFP)transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for the adoption of Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel in data center, campus, metropolitan area access and ring networks, and storage area networks.

It is compliant with the Gigabit Ethernet and 1000- BASE-T standards as specified in IEEE 802.3-2002 and IEEE 802.3ab, which supports 1000Mbps data- rate up to 100 meters reach over Category 5 copper line. The Cisco SFP provides full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to high-end workstations and between wiring closets over existing copper network infrastructure. Cisco GLC-T SFP transceiver is a hot pluggable module which with RJ45 interface, it is compatible to use with 1000Base-T application.

The GLC-T SFP transceiver supports1000 Mbps full duplex data-links with 5-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) signals. All 4 pairs on the cable being used with symbol rate at 250Mbps on each pair. The GLC-T SFP transceiver provides standard serial ID information compliant with SFP MSA, and this can be accessed with address of A0h by its 2wire serial CMOS EEPROM protocol. The physical IC can also be accessed via 2wire serial bus at address A0h.

Ingellen original GLC-T SFP products are fully compatible with Cisco routers and switches. Each GLC-T transceiver is programmed with a unique serial number and a Cisco compatible CRYPTO code. In addition, GLC-T supplied by Ingellen is automatically rate adaptable to operation at 10, 100, or 1000Mbps speeds over up to 100 meters of unshielded twisted-pair category 5 cable.
