Opinions On Cabling System 分類: 未分類

In the data communications segment, the multimode fibers have been divided into four categories – OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4. Technically, these categories did not define a specific fiber size, but rather their optical channel performance. OM3 optic fiber, which is 50/125 type and with industrial acknowledged Aqua color. OM3 10G fiber enables low cost 10G fiber optic communications over multimode fiber for as long as 500 meters or so.

The revolutionary OM3 50/125 Multimode cable is capable of handling up to 10 Gigabits of throughput. The 10 Gigabit Ethernet cables offer transmission rates up to 10 Gigabits per second using VCSEL light sources and are backwards compatible with existing LED-based 50/125 multimode installations. Featuring Corning and zirconia ceramic ferrules, the 10GB cables offer superior transmission reliability and core alignment with minimal attenuation. The 10 Gigabit duplex multimode 50/125 cables are ideal for systems in local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN), regional area networks (RAN) and wide area networks (WAN).

The success of the OM3 fiber has enabled the cost effective implementation of many of today's highest speed networks. Today, OM3 is the minimum performance required in data center standards even though it was unheard of 10 years ago. OM4 fiber has been introduced to the market since 2005, sold as premium OM3 or OM3+ fiber. The OM4 designation standardizes the nomenclature across all manufacturers so that the customer gets a clearer idea of the product that they are buying. OM4 is completely backwards compatible with OM3 fiber and shares the same distinctive aqua jacket. OM4 was developed specifically for VSCEL laser transmission and allows 10 Gig / second link distances of up to 550 meters (compared to 300M with OM3).

The basic factors to consider when making a fibre optic cable choice are bandwidth, reach, and cost.
a.High-bandwidth fiber media allows longer-length channels, higher loss-budget margin, and greater design flexibility.
b.Reach or length is a site-specific physical parameter that can be used to immediately narrow your fiber options. In general, as the data rate goes up, the reach goes down. Once reach is established, you can narrow your fiber options by identifying your users' current and/or future bandwidth needs.
c.Cost is the final factor to consider. If you need high speed over short distances, you may be able to use less expensive grades of fiber (OM2 or OM3) across certain links and still achieve reliable 10-Gbit/sec transmission. But if your goal is to build scalability and longer life into the network, it makes more sense to invest in higher-price, high-bandwidth fiber (OM3 or OM4) across the backbone and other permanent links.

FiberStore supplies a full line of multimode fibre optic cables, including OM1 fiber, OM2 fiber, OM3 fiber, OM4 fiber. 10G OM3 and OM4 fiber cables are both utilized for 10Gigabit Ethernet applications. Since OM3 fiber pricing is lower than OM4, I recommend you the cost effective OM3 fiber, lower price but almost same high performance. Also plastic optic fiber or POF Fiber maybe is another good ideal for your telecommunication, POF Fiber is easy to run along skirting boards, under carpets and around tight corners. Our multimode fiber cables are various types including different connector types, cable structure and cable length, all manufactured according to industrial standards and they feature the good price and reliable quality.

ODF Optical Distribution Frame Explained 分類: 未分類

In telecommunication, a fiber distribution frame is a passive device which terminates cables, allowing arbitrary interconnections to be made. Distribution frames for specific types of signals, such as ADF - audio distribution frame, DDF - digital distribution frame, ODF or OFDF - optical fiber distribution frame and VDF - video distribution frame. Today we are have a toptic on ODF.

ODF is primarily is a fiber optic management unit which is used to organize the fiber optic cable connections, used to connect and schedule optical fibers and optical cables. It is applicable to fiber intersections between an optical transmission network and optical transmission devices as well as between optical cables in an access networks.

The ODFs are available in a range of configurations depending on applications

a.Pre-terminated ODFs with stub cables are pre-installed with connectors and cable for quick and easy installation. Units with pre-terminated cables offer advantages such as faster installation, resulting in shorter time to revenue as well as guaranteed quality and performance. Several cable options are available, such as POF cable, Ribbon cable, tight buffer cable, armored dielectric fiber optics cable, etc. ODFs with stub micro cables are especially suitable for high packing density applications such as the Ericsson Multifiber Management System (MMS).

b.Pre-terminated ODFs with micro cable on reel are delivered attached to a reel with longer lengths of outdoor rated micro cable, eliminating time consuming and costly splicing of cables in the central office. This is also a preferred option in combination with the Multifiber Management System.

c.ODFs for cable installation are intended for installation and termination of all kinds of fiber optic cables(of course include POF cable). The units are suitable for splicing pigtails or fiber ribbon fanouts as well as field-installable connectors. The ODFs are delivered empty, allowing the customer to order the pigtails/fanouts, adapters, splice protection sleeves and installation kit that best suit the specific application. The units can also be installed with pre-connectorized cable assemblies.

d.ODFs for air blown fiber are designed to handle termination of ducts for air blown fibers. They are typically used in FTTx applications when blowing fibers directly to a central office or other distribution point. The air blown technology enables incremental installation when needed.

According to different sizes, there are 1U 12 ports, 1U 24 ports, 2U 36 ports, 3U 48 ports, 4U 72 ports and 5U 96 ports ODFs. The optic distribution frame is usually used indoor and the ODF could be very big size frame or small size similar like the patch panel boxes. Install type has rack mount and floor mount options.

FiberStore provide the fiber optical distribution frames with 12 ports, 24 ports, 36 ports, 48 ports, 72 ports, 96 ports and 144 ports types. These optical distribution frames are made of cold-rolled steel sheets and it is with proper structure and neatly looking.

Beneficial Krone Punch Down Tool 分類: 未分類

Punch down tool, also known as punchdown tool or Krone punch down tool(named after the KRONE LSA-PLUS connector), is a small hand tool used in telecommunication and network. It usually used for inserting wire into insulation displacement connectors on punch down blocks, patch panels, keystone modules, and surface mount boxes.

FiberStore-punch-down-tool                        Use krone punch down tool to punch down the wires like this

Most punch down tools are of the impact type, consisting of a handle, an internal spring mechanism, and a removable slotted blade. To use the punch down tool, a wire is pre-positioned into a slotted post, and then the punch down tool is pressed down on top of the wire, over the post. Once the required pressure is reached, the internal spring is triggered, and the blade pushes the wire into the slot, cutting the insulation, and securing the wire. For light-duty use, there are also less expensive punch down tools with fixed blades and no impact mechanism.

When terminating a cable, a special punchdown tool is used to press each piece of cable into the fiber connector and cut off the excess. Using the wrong tool or a screwdriver to do this can ruin the connection. Krone punch down Tool, enables installers to make faster, more uniform connections in Krone wiring blocks with far less effort. Punches down and cuts the wire in a single motion. With a single push, the spring loaded mechanism will trigger the blade at just the right point to seat and cut the wire to size. On/Off selector turns on and off the cutting function. Tool also includes a fold-out wire hook and spudger tip in the handle. The Krone punch down tool is small and compact, for easy storage and transportation.

Key Features Of Krone punch down tool
Simple to use for Telephone, Cat5e or Cat6 wiring.
Integrated spring loaded bladed cuts of excess automatically.
Includes a small hook to remove any existing wires from a socket.
Small blade to cut and strip wires to a desired length
Main tool for pushing wires fully into tight spaces
Small and compact, easily stored and transported
Excellent quality & retail packaged

To accommodate different fiber connectors types, 66, 110, BIX and krone require different blades. Removable blades for 66 or 110 are often double-ended, with one end that only inserts the wire for daisy-chain wiring from post to post, and another end that inserts wire and trims the excess length for termination at a post. Krone blades require a separate scissor-like mechanism for trimming the wire. The trimming blade cutting edge works against the plastic insulating post.

FiberStore's high quality reversible punch tool blades are the best choice for termination projects. Featuring a cutting blade with the IDC punch on one end and just the punch blade on the other, these blades are perfect for termination blocks and patch panels. Usable on our premium auto-impact tools and our economy non-impact tools, these blades are easily install in seconds keeping your project moving forward. Each blade is made of hardened steel to provide for a long life expectancy.

RJ45 Snagless Modular Plug Overview 分類: 未分類

Cat 5 and Cat 6 are UTP (or Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables. Both are terminated by RJ45 connectors. How Much Do You Know About RJ45 connector?

The RJ45 is the standard connector for UTP cable. "RJ" stands for "Registered Jack". RJ45 connectors connect electronic devices like computers over an Ethernet connection, also used to connect printers, cable or DSL modems, and storage devices. As there are a few different types of RJ45 cables, it is wise to be able to correctly identify them before you connect any device to your network.

The two most popular types of RJ 45 cables are crossover and standard patch cables. While both cables can be used to connect numerous devices to the Internet or to each other, they are often utilized for specific jobs. The standard patch cable is almost always used to connect a computer to a modem or router or network storage device. The crossover cables, on the other hand, are often used to connect one computer to another, without the need of an independent switch or router. The cables look the same, but on the inside there is a difference in the wiring, especially in the plug.

Where are RJ45 connectors used? RJ45 connectors can be used anywhere a device connected to the Internet. They are extremely popular in businesses, both large and small, especially a company requires networking solutions.

WDM Mux & Demux System Information 分類: 未分類

WDM system uses a multiplexer at the transmitter to join the signals together, and a demultiplexer at the receiver to split them apart. With the right type of fiber it is possible to have a device that does both simultaneously, and can function as an optical add-drop multiplexer. The optical filtering devices used have traditionally been etalons, stable solid-state single-frequency Fabry-Perot interferometers in the form of thin-film-coated optical glass.

DWDM and CWDM both use WDM technology to arrange several fiber optic lights to transmit simultaneously via the same single fiber optic cable, but DWDM carry more fiber channel compared with CWDM (Coarse WDM). CWDM uses the 1300nm and 1550nm wavelength for full duplex transmission, that is to say, if a signal is sent in one direction by 1300nm, it can be sent back by 1550nm via the same optical fiber. DWDM is the multiplexing of 4, 8, 16, 32 or more wavelengths in the range of 1530nm to 1610nm range with a very narrow separation between the wavelengths.

--CWDM include CWDM mux/demux module and CWDM OADM module. The common configuration of CWDM mux/demux module is 2CH, 4CH, 8CH, 16CH, 18CH CWDM mux/demux module. Single fiber or dual fiber connection for CWDM Mux/demux are available.
--DWDM include 50GHz, 100GHz, 200GHz DWDM mux/demux module and DWDM OADM module. The common configuration is 2CH, 4CH, 8CH, 16 CH, 32CH, 40CH channels.

Thanks to DWDM technology, a single optical fiber capacity nowadays could reach 400Gb/s, and this capacity may even enlarge with more channels are added in DWDM. A critical advantage of DWDM is its protocol is not related to its transmission speed, thus IP, ATM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, these protocols could be used and transmission speed between 100Mb/s to 2.5Gb/s. DWDM could transmit different type of data at different speed on the same channel. DWDM is usually used on fiber optic backbones and long distance data transmission and DWDM system has higher demand of fiber amplifiers.

By using WDM and optical amplifiers, people can accommodate several generations of technology development in their optical infrastructure without having to overhaul the backbone network. Capacity of a given link can be expanded by simply upgrading the multiplexers and demultiplexers at each end.

High density options - both 40 and 96 channel mux/demux solutions can provide an ideal solution for high density, add/drop requirements in DWDM networks, providing easy access of up to 96 wavelengths at a single site.

FiberStore offers a wide array of WDM networks, to efficiently and cost effectively multiply the capacity of existing fiber infrastructures and scale networks. FiberStore's multiplexing elements can achieve a full add/drop of up to 96 DWDM channels and/or 16 CWDM channels. Among them the 8 channel CWDM and 18 channel CWDM multiplexer are the hottest ones.
