Amish Trash Cans 分類: 未分類

Posted in plastic trash can on December 1st, 2010 by admin – Comments Off

If you want to bring together a rustic interior design scheme, look no further than an Amish wooden trash can. Each of these bins are carved by hand by an Amish builder, many from solid oak. They’re durable, authentic, pretty, and, surprisingly, relatively affordable.

If you want something simple, a small plastic bag trash can is for you. It costs $70 and is perfect for your kitchen countertop or in your pantry. It looks great and is very strong; the only downside is its price, but if you’re in the market for a high-end, non-plastic trash can, you’re going to be spending around this much anyway.

On the other end of the spectrum is the extra large flip top bin. This thing is so big that it’s almost commercial; it’s big enough to easily accommodate two families’ trash. Made of solid oak, it costs $400 but looks great and is incredibly sturdy. If you’re going for a log cabin look, this trash can can be just the thing to deal with your waste while sticking with the décor.

There are a number of non-Amish wooden trash cans that also look excellent. Many of these are deliberately kitschy, with themes like “fruit” and “Wild West,” so they may not be the best idea for your kitchen. However, if you have a holiday house or are outfitting a child’s room, these may be just the thing – kitsch definitely does have its place, and these trash cans fill it with aplomb.

The apple and western trash cans both cost $60. The former has – obviously – apples painted on it, while the latter has horses running across the bottom. As I said – kitschy, but kitsch has its place. Their wood material, of course, makes them very sturdy.

Finally, there is a swingtop wooden trash can with maple finish. This looks great outdoors, and is fantastic for keeping your porch, deck, or patio clean. It only costs $55, too, so it’s not a bank-breaker.

The biggest positive of a wooden trash can, as opposed to a plastic one, is sturdiness. The last thing you want – particularly outdoors in the wind – is for your trash can to fall over and dispense your refuse all over the place. There is definite potential for this with a plastic one, especially when it’s not very full. Wood’s heavy-duty quality means that this is a fear that you can happily discard
