Abaxis市場部主任Ron Blasig補充說：“再也不需要把檢查送到外面的實驗室去了。我們現在可以為腫瘤科醫生提供他們所需要的全部信息，從而能夠在數分鐘之內就可以為患者制定出有效的治療方案。”
POC Metabolic Panel for Oncology
A new basic metabolic panel is a point-of-care (POC) test designed to help oncologists and hematologists determine the fitness of cancer patients for chemotherapy while the patient is on site.
The Piccolo panel generates accurate results in minutes, providing information on calcium, chloride, creatinine, glucose, potassium, sodium, total carbon dioxide, urea nitrogen, magnesium, and lactate dehydrogenase.
“The test panel was developed specifically on direct feedback from oncology practices seeking a more specific treatment assessment tool,” noted Clint Severson, chairman and CEO of Abaxis, Inc. (Union City, CA, USA), which developed the panel. “We can now give our oncology customers complete diagnostic capabilities to monitor their patients’ health immediately prior to treatment.”
Abaxis develops, manufactures, and markets portable blood analysis systems to provide clinicians with rapid blood constituent measurements. The system includes a portable analyzer plus a series of single-use reagent discs. Whole blood, serum, or plasma may be tested with the system, and results are available in less then 14 minutes.
“Sending any tests to an outside laboratory is no longer necessary. We are providing oncologists with all the information they need to make effective treatment decisions for their patients in just minutes,” added Ron Blasig, director of marketing for Abaxis.
