Education in the US
Special Correspondent Robert K
this is a very debated subject in America. As unamerican as it sounds, Americans are dumb.
The reason that Americans are "flunking" at science is that PSSA tests don't take account for science.
PSSA testing is something that takes place only in Pennsylvania. They are a series of tests that are taken through all grades of school. They are really a pain. These PSSA tests show the strengths of students in each school. If the school, as a whole, passes; then the school gets extra money. The problem with these tests are that some schools have cut science classes for students to study more math and english, to pass the PSSA test. Now Pennsylvania is adding science questions to the PSSA tests, so more science classes are being offered. Now, our weakness is geography (I am sure you hear sometime of stereotype about Americans and geography).
I know that I was verbose on my explanation. :-)
