The shoe's standout feature, however, is its snakeskin overlays at the Swoosh, tongue and heel. The Air Jordan XXX1 Snakeskin is another luxurious version of the Air Jordan XXX1 that receives a textured makeover. This Air Jordan XXX1 features a Grey suede upper with snakeskin detailing on the tongues, heel, back midsole and Nike Swoosh logos. Replacing the large Jumpman logo on the ankle collar is the classic Wings logo. A solid White midsole and rubber outsole completes the look.

The new basketball shoe is the first to incorporate a woven material in the front part of the shoe with a leather upper. The material in the front of the shoe is a weave — called a flight weave — that combines great flexibility with great comfort. The designers used embroidery to bring the flight weave and the leather together into an unforgettable look. An unbelievable 100 people made the design happen, including MJ himself. The new edition of the Jordan 1 sees the upper of the previous Shattered Backboard colorway slightly revamped, as the orange toe box has been replaced with white leather and the black overlays have been replaced with orange. Additionally, the Jordan XXXIs will share a similar motif, featuring a predominantly orange and black upper. As the name suggests, the shoe reflects a moment in Jordan history when during a Nike exhibition in 1985, the GOAT dunked so hard the backboard literally shattered. The newest updates to the “Shattered Backboard” series include renditions of both the Air Jordan 1s and the Air Jordan XXXIs.
