Jordans 2017, there is good news as the series isn't quite canceled… more like re-branded. The new "series" is now named the Nike Mamba Instinct and the shoe features every tech spec the Mentality line once had. These feature new tooling which closely resemble the Nike Kobe 11, but everything else about the shoe has been taken from the Mentality line and shifted over to the new Instinct line. simple yet smartly designed for the most part. If you ever wanted the Kobe 8, Nike basically repackaged it and renamed it with a few subtractions. Midfoot and torsional support is dependent solely on the insole which may or may not be a deal breaker for some. Minimalist lovers who want a low to the ground feel with great traction and fit will enjoy these. Loved the two previous Kobe Mentalities for their all-around performance & outdoor capabilities. Looks like it got a new name on the third shoe. So after playing and testing, here's my Nike Kobe Mamba Instinct review.
New Air Jordan Shoes, We got a drop-in Lunarlon midsole, which is the same setup as the Mentality II. Lunarlon is definitely a minimal cushion for those who prefer response and court feel over bounce and impact protection. But these actually felt even more minimal than the Mentality II. Of course it's not on a Kyrie 2 level, I still felt some bounce. Maybe the midsole is thinner or something, but you'll get TONS of ground coverage with these, you'll be able to achieve maximum possible speeds and they will definitely not slow you down. Not a great setup for a heavier guy with superior athletic abilities though. The whole traction pattern and rubber compound is different from the last shoes in the line and kinda not in a good way. This is actually considered to be an outdoor line but the compound on these didn't feel that durable.
New Jordans 2016, The Nike KB Mentality 3 dropped silently and it looks like the same formula that worked for the previous 2 models will be back. The drop-in Lunarlon midsole is back which has been a staple and probably the best selling point of the shoe considering it is full-length and priced as a mid-level shoe. This time, Jacquard will be used for the upper which I am really excited on trying. Honestly, I am a bit disappointed on the outsole just because it looks like there are thin parts of solid rubber used. The KB Mentality line has been known for a good option for outdoor balling because of the aggressive and thick rubber outdoor which is very ideal for outdoor balling.
