The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 has already gone down as one of 2017′s most revered sneakers thus far. The coveted collaborative shoe between artist Brian Donnelly and the Jordan Brand sold out in milliseconds when it dropped at the end of March, and can now be found on the resell market for up to thousands of dollars. Of course sneakerheads will do pretty much anything to get their hands on a pair of elusive shoes. With that, thanks to Union Los Angeles — and Nike for suppling the shoes – the La Brea mainstay put together a scavenger hunt for the KAWS x Air Jordan 4s.
New Jordans 2016, The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 was probably one of the most anticipated and coveted Jordan releases 2017, at least so far. It is more than likely that just about every other sneakerhead was eager to get their hands on that sneaker. However, it would definitely not have been possible for all of them to grab a pair. Along with being a one-of-a-king, rare and special release, the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 was also available in limited numbers. Sneakerheads will agree that one of the best feelings they have had in their lives is when they walked out of a retail store carrying a boxing containing their favorite Air Jordan pair. For them, the package is as important as the kicks they contain. Most of them actually store their Air Jordan sneakers inside the box they came in within their closet. Just opening an avid sneakerhead’s closet and spotting a number of Air Jordan boxes is enough to impress anyone. Sneakerheads already know that the upcoming KAWS x Air Jordan 4 is coming with a special hang tag, but it will also arrive in a special box.
New Air Jordan Shoes, Famed artist KAWS has been rather recluse since discontinuing his streetwear brand OriginalFake, only showing face for the occasional high art project or worthwhile collaboration. Jordan Brand commission him for the latter; his canvas: the Air Jordan 4. The result, magnificent. The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 features a buttery premium suede upper in smooth and heathered textures, all drenched in a tonal grey colorway. KAWS hand graphics are etched into the upper as well, along with the matching hang tag. The midsole and upper "Wings" are also wrapped in suede. Th premium sneaker, completely composed of "Cool Grey" suede, arrives in special edition packaging that reveals KAWS' "XX" branding it red above classic "AIR" branding in white. KAWS' iconic hands graphic is found etched across the entire black box, as well as across the collaboration silhouette's upper. Additional premium upgrades on the sneaker include suede wings, waxed laces, embossed Jumpman branding similar to the "Take Flight" Air Jordan 5, and suede honeycomb eyelets. Traditional netting on the silhouette has also been replaced with some sort of hairy suede material. Even the midsole unit appears to be composed of suede. A semi-translucent glow outsole unit revealing ever more KAWS’ hand graphics completes the upcoming collaboration.
