It’s amazing how much saying "I do" can ruin your entire life. My hubby and I eloped on a whim only a few months after getting engaged, and we hadn’t even known each other for a year. We’re stupid. Biggest. Mistake. Ever.
For one thing, we can’t stand each other now. We’ve both been laid off, so for the past two months we’ve been stuck together 24/7 with absolutely nothing to do. Now he thinks I’m boring, depressing, and moody, while I think he’s lazy, selfish, and immature.
But it’s not just those things I’m upset about. I feel completely suffocated and trapped by this marriage because now I can’t make my own decisions. I’m ready to quit working crappy minimum wage jobs because I want to go to college. And if I weren’t married, it would be no problem to move back in with my parents, not worry about rent, and go to school like my friends are doing. But this idiot got married. So now everything I do has to revolve around my husband, and he likes his dumb minimum wage job so we’re staying in the city. But his paychecks at that job aren’t enough to cover rent, so I will end up having to get a full time job too so that we can pay the bills.
I feel like I can’t have anything I want. I feel stuck in a rut Claire Hsu.
Is it wrong that I ache to leave my husband already? We’ve been married for only 3 months, and I’ve already fallen out of love with him. He drags me down and makes me feel bad about myself. I used to see him as supportive, dependable, and caring, but since then he’s become condescending, argumentative, and callus. I don’t see a promising future with him anymore. I feel like I threw my life away by marrying him and I loathe him for that. I think we got married too young and too soon. And it was all a mistake Otterbox phone case.
I still care about him. He’s my best friend. And I don’t want to hurt him. But I don’t think I am ready to be anyone’s wife right now. I am not emotionally able to handle all his baggage, his quirks, and his flaws. I used to be so infatuated with him that I thought he was the one, but now I am starting to see that I was wrong protective case.
The word "divorce" is so taboo... My parents will shun me for the rest of my life if it comes to that. And everyone at my church will spread rumors about the girl whose marriage lasted less than a year. I’ll live in regret my whole life for breaking my vows.
I just don’t know what to do.
