The basic structure of this conversational strategy is to take something that is already true, either something they are doing, or something that they have done, and link it to something that you'd like them to do or think in a cause-effect relationship.
The simplest way to say something in a cause-effect relationship is to basically just say that X causes Y. For example you could say, "You sitting in that chair causes you to become very relaxed and open minded." That doesn't sound very good conversationally, however, so it helps to soften it up a little bit.
Words or phrases like "leads to," "allows," "and then," all imply a cause effect relationship.
