1. PHRASE

A group nof word wich makes sense, but not complete sense.

eg. The planes fly in the sky.

      The sun rises in the east.

       He knows how to swim.

2. CLAUSE

A group of words which forms part of a sentence, and contains a Subject and a Predicate.

eg. We must wash our hands before we eat.

     The girl whose hair is red is my cousin.

      He said that he was thirsty.
