I'm just SOoooooo EXCITED!!! I got baptised last night at the church in Tai Po. The ceremony started at 8:30pm, but we must arrived at 7...so there we were~Hailie, Cynthia and I dressed all in white(OMG~we look so PRETTY!!!)and waited nervously. Lots of people congratulated us warmly and I was really happy. Finally it was 8:30 and the church was full of people~some even had to sat outside in the courtyard and some in the basement!!! Since it was the important Easter ceremony...that's why thousands of people came. Mom and dad sat in the basement...but mom was really happy about me getting baptised! I saw some familiar faces throughout the ceremony, most are from VC, which was lovely, cuz it felt like everyone had come to celebrate our important day~the baptism!
At first, when the ceremony started, all the lights were turned OFF!!! The whole church was DARK and I could see nothing! Then, the candles were lit, all the Catholics got a candle and slowly one by one, the candle were all light up...he scene was great, and ...just imagine how it looks when everywhere is dark but there were thousands of lighting candles!!! It was Awesome!!!
Then it was finally the baptism...I lean forward near the "pool" and Father poured a lot of water to my head with a beautiful white shell container...saying.."Denise, in the name of FATHER(poured some water), the SON(poured again), and of the HOLY SPIRIT(poured once more)...you are......." something like that...I was nervous but excited at the same time...thousands of cameras shooting at me and ...that was it..I was baptised.
The next part was getting our new WHITE coat from the priest. We lined up and took them one by one. Then we put them on so to represent that we are re-born. Afterward, was the lighting candles part. We light up our white candle and brought them along as the Priest use oil to draw a cross on our foreheads. Then went back to our seat and here comes the most nervous moment of all~Me leading a little prayer. Lucky that I practised a lot...I actually did quite GOOD!!! Even mom said it was good! I remembered that I was so scared I didn't dare to look at the people...I just stare at my piece of paper and read...with the steady-est voice I can make...phew..finally done!
Now came the moment where I was really touched...having those...um...I'm not sure what it's called in English but it's a little piece of bread(???)and it represents the body of Jesus. The Priest gave us one each then we dip them into the wine and eat them(without chewing~it melt of course...)The wine tasted a bit bitter...though. I almost cry when I ate that...cuz I know~HE was in my body~I ate HIM...and there HE stays in my body...I'm WITH HIM...I can FEEL it. I knelt to pray when I got back to my seat...sat back down afterwards. Looking at Hailie, I know we felt the same~the Love form God.
The ceremony ended at about 11pm. Then we had to take photos and photos and lots of photos. Felt like a star because there were hundrads of cameras in front of us that I don't know which one I should look at...Anyway, then we went down to the party~grab a drink and went on taking photos AGAIN!!! Here are the photos~have a look.
