Puff (The Magic Dragon)，輕快旋律背後，有個傷心故事：
從前有條魔龍，認識了一個小朋友，他是它唯一的朋友。時間過去，小朋友長大，不再留在魔龍身邊，魔龍從此失去它唯一的朋友。魔龍很傷心，它失去了勇氣，失去了歡欣，自此不再快樂地嬉戲......
曾經我邊看歌詞邊聽歌，眼淚便禁不住流下來，那條魔龍真的很可憐呢... 失去一個朋友已經夠難過，更何況那是唯一的朋友... 如果那小朋友從來沒有出現過，可能魔龍不會傷心；但若曾一同經歷快樂時光，那種悲傷實在無法言諭。「失去」從來就比「沒有」凄涼。

Pirate ships would lower their flag when Puff roared out his name

而噴噴那巨大的龍，也停止了它無畏的吼叫
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain
它憂愁的垂下頭來，綠色的麟甲如雨般片片剝落
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
噴噴不再到那快樂的地方玩耍
Without his life-long friend, Puff could not be brave
沒有了它畢生唯一的朋友，噴噴再也無法勇敢
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave
所以噴噴那巨大的龍，悲傷的鑽進了它的岩洞
