We think all our Glama-Girls are glama-rous and beautiful. When it comes to aging, it's best to do it gracefully but also with the proper regimen and care so that you can look your best whatever age you are! We give you the tools and the tips below.
At your 20's…
It's never too early to prevent damage to your skin and address areas where the signs of aging first appear. When you hit your 20's your skin really starts changing. Your eyes and lips have the thinnest skin, so make sure you are keeping your lips well-moisturized and adding an eye cream or gel to your morning and nighttime ritual of cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and sun protection. You should be exfoliating your skin once a week to prevent dullness and breakouts from occurring.
IN YOUR 30'S…
Upon hitting your 30's it's best to use more emollient formulations that contain plant, nut, and other natural oils and Omega 3 fatty acids, which can be ingested as well and incorporated into your diet! (Pop a multivitamin for your skin, and make sure to eat salmon and other fish containing Omega 3 fatty acids). If you weren't using serums previously, now's a good time to start. Make sure in addition to mechanical exfoliation with scrubs, that you also start to use at-home chemical peels. Do not over-exfoliat though, as this can cause sensitivity and even more skin problems.
IN YOUR 40'S…
Anti-aging products are getting so effective in this day and age that 40 is the new 30, 50 the new 40, and so on. Make sure that you are using a heavier eye and night cream, as well as more heavy-duty serums. To increase cellular turnover and skin regeneration, look for Vitamin A creams including OTC Retinolds, or consult your dermatologist to see if you should be using Retinoids.
YOUR 50'S…
Keep up your good work, making sure you are exfoliating properly, using anti-aging serums that have hydrating, firming, and anti-wrinkle benefits and pairing this with face cream, then eye cream that also address these issues. Consult with your dermatologist to see if there are any in-office procedures such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion that can be added to your own efforts on a monthly or seasonal basis. Make sure you are applying all your creams with upward strokes and circular massage motions. Also remember to keep your hands and neck well moisturized and cared for, as these 2 areas, aside from the face, are the first to show aging.
GLAMA-GIRLS OF ALL AGES: STAY HYDRATED BY DRINKING LOTS OF WATER INCLUDING EATING VEGETABLES AND FRUITS, WEAR A SUNSCREEN DAILY EVEN ON CLOUDY DAYS AS THE LIGHT REFLECTS AND EVEN INTERIOR AND OFFICE LIGHTS CAN CAUSE SKIN DAMAGE!
