They defeated the opponents one by one and they came to the final against a school which was well known in playing basketball called Power College. At the first half, two teams were playing well, just one or two points between two teams. But at the second half, the Power College discovered the weaknesses of them. James tried hard to rescue his team but the opponent was stong. Finally,they lost and they were disappointed with their performance. Everyone was depressed,especially James. He didn't blame anyone,he just throught he could do better to make his team reaching their goal,but he didn't . The coach said "You all had done a good job already, although you weren't practice seriously at the beginning. I know , losing is not what you want. But it isn't too bad at all. At least you all can learn a lesson and know more about yourselves. The competition has gone, it means it is a new beginning of next year's competition. After this game, you all discovered your weakness. Passing is what you all need to improve. If passing is not fluent, the ball movement will be slow and there is less space to offense. This year,we are the 1st runner-up. It means we still have improvement to reach to the highest level. Therefore,from now on,work harder and more ! Practice makes perfect. I know you all can do it. Come on,Strive for the champion!" The day after the final,the basketball team has started training already. " Go ahead man! We cannot look back. We need to go forward. We can't be lazy anymore! Come on !"said James. "Yeah ! Let's go! Stand up from where we fell. We are tough. We are the best!"responsed from his teammates. We kept striving for their goal. They were desired for the champion. The team became stronger and stronger. They were all ready for next year. A year passed, the competition started again. Century College had a strong start,they were ever-victorious. They didn't lost any matches in the competition. Everyone in the team was full of confident and they came to the final against Power College again. "Guys,did you remember how we lost last year? But last year was last year. We are totally different now. We need to take revenge. Let's get our champ! One,two,three...TEAM!"shouted by James. The game started. Century College got the ball. Paul held the ball and he passed it to James and scored a three points shot as a opening. Then Power College got a nice layup plus a foul by Smith and the free throw scored. Both team were playing tightly, and the first half finished. The game was tied. After 5 minutes break,the third quarter began. Power College played faster and gave many pressures to Century College. Century College made many turnovers in this quarter and this was the reason why they were losing. The coach told them to stay calm,the defense should do better since defense was the best offense. The team really did better in the fourth quarter and tied the game at 48 to 48. Power College called a timeout, there were just 2 minutes remaining. Paul stole the ball from the opponent and got a easy layup. But the opponent scored a three points in transition. The final came to the last minute. James got the ball, Smith set a pick for him to get some space to shoot the ball,but he couldn't shoot it and passed it to Smith with a powerful dunk. Century College leaded by one. Then the opponent driving to the rim and drew a foul from Johnson. Power College just got one free throw. The game tied again! The scored was 52-52. Everyone was excited and there was 10 seconds remained. James got the ball and tried to beat the buzzer. The shot clock down to 3...2...and 1....James put up for the win and he scored ! The game was over . Century College defeated Power College and they were the champion! All Century College basketball team members cried. It wasn't came from sadness. It was came from happiness and success. "We are the best! We achieved our goal finally. We have been waiting for a long time. Last year we couldn't get it. But this year,we did it."
