他表示，所謂「敏感」是對於某些物質的無法容忍。「刺激」則是對某些物質的耐受到達極限。那麼，從這種觀念看，「敏感肌」其實更像是刺激後尚未完全復原的肌膚。
宋奉宜介紹，由於刺激物的不明確，敏感肌成因眾說紛紜，不少人將其歸於內因（比如喝酒、光敏感體質）也可以歸於外因（保養品、日曬）等。不過，宋奉宜表示，以其的臨床經驗，過度清潔與保養品傷害是最常見的兩大原因。
春秋季節的確是肌膚敏感的高發期。不過宋奉宜並不認為肌膚出現各類敏感症狀就一定是壞事，一定需要阻止，他表示，肌膚出現敏感很可能是因為個人錯誤選擇保養品的累積效應，出現敏感症狀，可能正是皮膚細胞在自我救贖。
面部紅血絲成因不同處理各異
宋奉宜強調，肌膚出現敏感症狀需要區別對待，如果是臉頰出現紅血絲，也就是微血管擴張或微血管增生，這時候需要確定是微血管只是擴張還是已經增生。
如果只是擴張，這時候想辦法減少發炎，或對局部做些鎮靜、冰敷的方法，可以暫時讓擴張血管重新收縮。微血管已經增生的話，此時沒有太好的方法，只能以雷射燒灼、血管堵塞等破壞方式處理已增生的微血管。這階段要小心謹慎，不要因為激烈的治療過程，使發炎的皮膚受傷更為嚴重。
除了紅血絲之外，有人在吹風後會出現面部泛紅的情況，宋奉宜表示，敏感肌是剛剛受完傷的組織，因此是脆弱的、容易敏感的。冷熱空氣的變化，室內外溫差較大，這些皮膚的血管反應就會比較明顯，當然會出現泛紅的現象。

痘痘瘋長最好找醫生
有些敏感肌人群到了春天會出現瘋長痘痘的情況。對於處理痘痘肌，用藥品、各類保養品遏制是很多人慣用的方式。不過，宋奉宜卻將痘痘視作肌膚的自我修復。
