Upon arriving in MIAMI i was welcomed by the rays of the sun and a nice spot on AOUTH BEACH.sipping on a FROZENMANGO mojito had me pondering on what to expect of the SATURATED show on the coming day.. it got me thinking back to when i first met KAWS,at the BAPE GALLERY SHOW(in 2003 or 2004 i am not too sure).
That night i had the opportunity to purchase some art but only small pieces,all the oter pieces were sold as the show opened it’s doors.
I wasn’t expecting not to see a KAWS show again for the coming 5 years and i found myself as a friend and fan following his art and the success of ORIGINAL FAKE.The past four years i have been to his studio and seen his work and now with a close peek into his art world has me wondering what is in store for MR KAWS....

EDC:How you doing lately Brian??and CONGRATS on the success of ORIGINAL FAKE

Kwas:THANKS!i have been good,super busy lately but only working on stuff i’m interested in so i have no complaints.

EDC:So why no show since 2004??Why Miani??

Kaws:The last show was”Original Fake” at Bape gallery in 2003.it’snot that i pianned to not have shows for a few years,it’s just that nothing interesting came up. i was thinking about where to show it.i was also lucky
enough to have a few people who were interested and supportive of what i was doing. and Miami is a city i don’t know much about so i thought this would be a great way to see it.

EDC:The title of the show is called SATURATED why the name??

Kaws:I chose it brcause at this time i feel like i’m past the point of influene. i have my ideas about what to be doing and 1 plan to follow them through and let everything else sort itself out.

EDC:How has your style evolved over the years for KAWS??

Kaws:i think with time i get to better understand my interests in the world around me.

EDC:I say KAWS is a pop icon,what do u say back to that??

Kaws:i think statements like that should only be said about dead people.
