And Other Stars' Iconic Footwear PHOTOS

Earlier this month, Emma Watson revealed that she owns only eight pairs of shoes. (Madness.) Granted, for most of us, that's entirely reasonable eight pairs of shoes is more than enough to take you from day to night, and through the weekend. But in the world of celebrity? Where entire homes are built on mountains of footwear, and likely for free? Well, this revelation is shocking.

So with shoes on the brain, we began merging the worlds of celebrity and footwear, mostly to see which brands or styles Emma Watson could campaign for. The answer: endless. But that didn't stop us from compiling a list of actors and musicians who are closely linked with particular designers or shoe types.

Kristen Stewart And ConverseKristen Stewart's affinity for Converse makes sense. Considering the actress is renowned for being herself by maintaining her casual, jeans and a t shirt style (not to mention refusing to put up with out of line questions about her personal life), it'd be surprising if she didn't embrace the iconic brand. Going so far as to wear them on award show red carpets as well as out and about, it's only a matter of time before she designs her own line right? (And if not, Converse, can you make it happen?)

Lady Gaga And PlatformsLady Gaga's shoes aren't for the weak of feet. Whether covered in meat, are seemingly impossible to walk in (see: Alexander McQueen heels from her "Bad Romance" video, or bred 13s for sale any worn to award shows), or defy logic and gravity, the singer has made "weirdest, most intimidating platform shoes" her trademark. Don't try it at home.

Lady Gaga And Platforms

Lady Gaga And Platforms

Gwen Stefani And Doc MartensYou'd be hard pressed to find another singer as tied into the '90s as Gwen Stefani (minus Courtney Love, whose fashion sense we also adore), so the No Doubt front woman's continued affection for Doc Marten's is arguably bigger than all of us. Surprisingly, she's gotten even closer, since the actress has recently signed on to design a collection for Manolo Blahnik, prompting choruses of "finally!" from every human with a television.

Sarah Jessica Parker And Manolo Blahnik

Rihanna And AdidasRihanna rocks the best of both worlds: in one, she's stage ready and heel centric, making best dressed lists after nearly every public event. On the other, she's casual and Adidas clad, favouring high top sneakers and leopard print styles when she's like the song goes living her life. (Thanks, guys.) However, to shake things up, in Cologne, Germany last week, she was seen wearing an Adidas jersey with Air Jordan shoes. Trust us: in grade school, this would've been a much bigger deal.

Beyonc And Christian LouboutinWe all know Beyonc's closet would be one to raid, but her shoe space might take the cake thanks to her love of Christian Louboutin. Not only is the singer consistently seen out in the trademark red soled styles, rumour has it she actually asked the bred 13s 2013 designer to create a pair specifically for daughter Blue Ivy last year. Stars: they're not just like us.

Beyonc And Christian Louboutin

Alexa Chung And Smoking SlippersAlexa Chung helped make clogs happen in 2010, so it's no doubt that the British TV presenter helped usher in smoking slippers earlier this year. Spotted wearing them during the spring in New York and London, and also during Fashion Week, the look only added to Chung's existing trademark for flats (specifically oxfords and loafers). Paired with a dress, with trousers, and with shorts, slippers and flats are arguably the Alexa Chung special.

Kate Bosworth And Isabel MarantWhen a celebrity bred 13s loves a designer, sometimes they really love them. Case in point: Kate Bosworth and Isabel Marant, who go together like us and lists about fashion. Whether wearing leather ankle boots or Marant's high top platform sneakers (that Kelly Oxford often wore, too), Bosworth flew Marant's flag high, making it surprising that the actress hasn't landed a campaign with the designer yet.

Victoria Beckham And StilettosDespite having damaged her feet as a result of high heels, Victoria Beckham continues to live up to her Posh reputation (and legacy) by embracing height and lots of it. From sandals to boots to classic pumps, Beckham reaches new levels literally thanks to heels so tall, thin, and commanding, her balance must be consistently applauded. (She even wore sky high heels while pregnant with daughter Harper Seven Beckham. Now that's dedication.)

3. Gwen Stefani And Doc Martens

"Sex and the City's" Carrie Bradshaw helped draw worldwide attention to Manolo Blahnik, but in addition to the character's shoe obsession, Sarah Jessica Parker has also become linked with the brand. Surprisingly, she's gotten even closer, since the actress has recently signed on to design a collection for Manolo Blahnik, prompting choruses of "finally!" from every human with a television.

Rihanna rocks the best of both worlds: in one, she's stage ready and heel centric, making best dressed lists after nearly every public event.  And a Summer Long Gone

I been coming to Kelley Ping a stylish Shanghai noodle bar for fifteen years.

discovered it the bred 13s 2013 summer I graduated from from college while visiting my college girl friend who had, at the time, dedicated her life to urban forestry in NYC. Quite a noble mission for a rural born Oregonian. New York was much different then. And in someways the same. But, no, much different. It was dirty. You hung on to your purse tightly on the train.

But it was fun, the same way it is now, with energy, excitement, and diversity that no city in the world can match. It just I notas worried about getting mugged as I was back then. Catkin landed an internship for a company called the Green Gorillas and with her major in Environmental Studies, New York seemed the perfect battle ground for a must change the world now type of gal.

I was on my way back to London to make it as an actor, but thought I stop in New York to help her out for a few months. After all, we became friends in an Environmental Studies class and best friends during a hellish Biology class at Mills College. Later we became roommates. But after receiving a in Organic Chemistry I gave up on becoming a Botanist and traveling to the Amazon rain forest to discover cancer curing plants and decided to focus more on Theater, Communications, and Middle English.

Don ask. She stuck with Environmental studies and added on a French major just to cover the bases. And she also completed a minor in ballet. No one can say we weren well rounded in our education if not totally bipolar. How could I turn down being a green gorilla for few months?

We planted gardens along Houston Street in Soho, handed out information about "getting green", and traveled into Harlem to replant people personal gardens (incuding the late Langston Hugh backyard), greenify parks, and spread the gospel about the dangers of lead paint. These were the days before the word "green" was PC. I think we were seen as annoying, funky, crunchy granola, West Coast hippies. Probably how most people view those college kids who canvas for Green Peace. I mean come on, the company was called Green Gorillas afterall.

New York really didn care about getting in 1995. Global warming was a concept that was mostly uninteresting to people if not proposterous. And radical. And totally unproved. Cows were blamed by the media for part of the problem because of the methane gas they create. As if getting jordan 13 bred rid of cows would end the insignificant annoyance called: Global Warming. Harlem was in transition too. We got off the train one day with our pamphlets and shovels and quickly were told by a group of young men that were hanging out around the station that we "didn belong here", "it could be dangerous for us", "best get on the train back to where we came." Catkin and I just laughed and asked directions.

The guys shook their heads in disbelief but headed us on our way all the while shouting out how crazy we were. We really didn understand what all the fuss was about. Still don However we did look ridiculous in our Green Gorilla uniforms that were really nothing more than cut off shorts, bandanas to hold our hair back and keep the sun from melting our brains, and our college T shirts that boasted slogans like: "Strong women, proud women, Mills Women" or "Remember who you are and what you represent". Regardless of the warnings we had a great time in Harlem. And people fed us constantly. We inhaled the hospitality.

Summer never tasted so good. Our apartment was in Brooklyn. Alice Walker daughter had just purchased a cafe just down the street and Spike Lee opened a shop on the corner boasting his own clothing line. A lively performing art school chorused with talent from morning through the afternoon right across from us. I haven been back to Brooklyn since that time, so I can exactly remember where the neighborhood was sadly enough. And I wonder if that special area has maintained it vibrant artist community.

Brownstones were just beginning to become hot commodities then and I sure I wouldn be able to afford an apartment there today. In the morning we would catch the train into Manhattan were the headquarters of the Green Gorillas was lodged just North of Houston in a neighborhood that is now called Noho. It was defintely not called Noho then. It was simiply: North of Houston or North of Soho.

One hot sticky muggy summer day after planting a garden that is now in shambles near Houston and Broadway, we ventured into the trendy Soho district for lunch, broke and starving after a hard day work in the sun. And we were not attractive: the two of us covered in bred 13s dirt wearing our cut off shorts and our dirty bandanas that barely hid our sweaty, dusty, greasy hair. We were not Soho material. We were not Sex In The City girls by any means.

Walking down the little streets West of Broadway we came upon a restaurant called Kelley and Ping and decided to take a risk. I had never seen a noodle bar and certainly not a stylish self serve Shanghai canteen that boasted affordable prices and huge bowls of soup steaming with noodles and vegetables.

were not disappointed. Although hot food was not exactly what the doctor ordered on a New York muggy summer day steamed vegetables, nourishing broth, with tender pork dumplings hit the spot. The restaurant captured summer effortlessly with an overhead gentle breeze from slowly moving fans and sunlight streaming through its partial glass ceiling.

Kelley and Ping is exactly the same today. Except they have a liquor license. Which I think is an added bonus. Especially considering that now I am more than old enough to legally drink. The prices are still cheap. (I hate the word it always sounds like a compromise.) You can order any number of soups from Pho Bac, a frangrant Vietnamese soup with beef and basil to Wonton soup with duck, chicken, or pork broth and any noodles of choice.

There are lots of Asian curries and stir frys too. We both still enjoy Kelley and Pings. She never left New York. I keep coming back for bred 13s for sale more.

Kelley and Ping is located in downtown Soho 127 Greene Street (between Prince and Houston New York, NY 10012 Phone: 212. 228. 1212.

Money talks on the bred 13s for sale catwalk

New York Fashion Week

is rich in atmosphere: pin legged junior editors leap from yellow cabs across subway grilles belching steam; the eavesdropping is hilarious (at Tory Burch two minutes ago, I heard "I like a nose job. Same as anybody. Butnose job? Euuwwgh"); the clipboard fascists are spectacularly humourless; and there is always the same, slightly mournful, pink haired transvestite lurking outside the shows.

Lacking, however, is what Jacobs was getting at: barkingly fantastic, "" shows. The European editors won't say this to their hosts' faces (too polite and advertising fixated), but Jacobs is really the only show any of them are properly excited to see: "It's New York's only Prada moment," said one.

Milan apart, this city markets commercial fashion better than any other. This week, Women's Wear Daily estimated that to hit the holy grail of becoming a corporate entity, a designer needs to generate sales of $25 million (almost 16 million) a year. So in this cash is king culture, fashion is divided into haves and have nots: the aspirant unestablished who have to try and present something creative yet mass marketable enough to catch the attention of the buyers and hedge funders, and the big beasts Hilfiger, Burch, Lauren who use the collections as (often excellent) image building exercises for the rest of their empires. That's why, excluding Jacobs, you so rarely see quite the same gloriously loopy theatre here that you get in Milan, Paris, and just occasionally London, too.

"It was hysterical yet historical, and a little bit twisted," said Marc Jacobs. Backed by the financial might of LVMH, Jacobs provides New York Fashion Week with its only full tilt fashion moment. Yet again he's pulled that rabbit from his hat, courtesy of some mega millinery in multi coloured fur, puritan clothes in Technicolour, zingy paisley and an enormous origami creepy castle set by the artist Rachel Feinstein. Analysing whether anyone fancies wearing some diamante buckled, high heeled pilgrim shoes or a tiger print Jamiroquai ish hat is not the point: this was an exercise in considered craziness, Cat in The Hat meets Kurt Cobain (said Jacobs), a spectacle for the sheer what the hell sake of it.

When tweed met fishnet? Sounds like bred 13s a nightmare fashion fusion of Downton Abbey and Belle de Jour. But in the hands of Alexander Wang, it worked, despite the stupid decision to pull the models' polo necks up to under their noses, so that they resembled gags.

Tweed was bonded with vinyl into sinister raincoats, and worn over waxed leather jerkins, skirts and tunics, plus dominatrix boots to create a don't mess with me uniform. The leather trousers with a belt that looped under the wearer's rump were impractical, but attention grabbing. Wang is revered for elevating sportswear into the fashion vernacular, but, happily, he appears to be trying to move on from that tired formula, one puffer gilet apart. The supermodel Gisele came on at the end. They didn't jordan 13 bred gag her.

The gravel that lined Hilfiger's faux terracotta catwalk sparked havoc for the high heeled guest list that included Uma Thurman. Once settled, equilibrium was restored with a collection that combined military, equestrian, English country, biker and rock 'n' roll references in one multiple personality melange. It almost entirely succeeded: motorcycle trousers looked fine against tartan print jackets; cable knit on silk dresses or neoprene coats were clever; the Mary Quant y Sixties laser cut shift dresses, Emma Peel appealing; and a green or burgundy quilted suede biker jacket with a touch of Chanel about it rightly got plenty of air. Hilfiger said: "She's not going to wear a Purdey hunting jacket, or pure motorcycle, or pure equestrian. So to make something that combines all those elements made sense to us."

Tina Turner's Let's Stay Together shuddered from the sound system as Diane von Furstenberg and her dashing French designer Yvan Mispelaere promenaded down the catwalk at the end. They looked very much a (creative) couple.

They rustled up a straight to the point collection of sinuously twisting wrap dresses, complementarily toned separates and jumpsuits, and some devastating LBDs with shiny, sheer, or velvet panels to catch the eye. To kookify things, there were also plenty of arty references, including Pollock spatters on trouser suits, and telephone dial and clock motif handbags bags la Dada.

"The idea is to glorify the woman, and make her sexy and proud of bred 13s 2013 her body," said von Furstenberg backstage.

When it's freezing, how can a woman stay warm without looking like she's been mugged by a duvet? This has been a pressing question in New York this week, but Donna Karan kicked it to the kerb. Her answer: snug down filled jackets rescued from shapelessness by waist hugging belts.

To underline their qualifications as insulation, models hit the catwalk direct from the kerb outside and looked convincingly un traumatised by the sub zero winds that were flying in off the Hudson river.

The un parka'd models were less fortunate. They looked great, but deserved danger money for braving the gales in a collection that started with no nonsense city wear slim fit trouser suits in black and kick skirt dresses then played, as last season, with florals and zingy coloured eveningwear.

Rene Zellweger and a charity gala's worth of big haired, certain vintage uptown socialites thronged to see Carolina Herrera, a three decades strong stalwart of polite society chic.

For next season, she presented a selection of navy blue and black separates high jackets, slim, tailored trousers and chic dresses topped off with hair so comprehensively pushed back it looked as if the models had been caught in a wind tunnel. This day wear was sometimes lovely and never anything but utterly polite yet the eveningwear did occasionally veer perilously close to meringue territory, particularly a finale dress that was a riot of peachy layers and sported a train whose ostentation rivalled the Orient Express in its pomp.

It started with a pretty, gold buttoned white dress with blocks of orange and black at the sleeves, and a white lace sheer top above a pretty butterfly print skirt. Then came a butterfly effect of ever more complicated combinations of print, sludge toned blocky panels, floral embroidery, and irregular hems. There was the odd hit, as with a mossy green drawstring skirt against an elegantly cut botanical print blouse. But the misses such as a dress that was sheer below the thigh, silver beaded just above, with white flowers at the back, black lace on the arms, and green florals on the chest (phew) came equally as frequently.

The room was awash with goodwill: people here really want Gurung to succeed. But what about the clothes? Well, they are dizzyingly complicated. One bomber jacket had a Mary Katrantzou ish digital skull and petal print panel with sleeves of blue tinsel a hard ask to wear. The finale dresses seemed to incorporate every weapon in fashion's eveningwear arsenal: organza, lam, sequins, sheer panels, feathers. These maximalist extravagances are in your face bewitching at first, yet quickly become exhausting. When Gurung reined in that kitchen sink compulsion, his clothes became classier. From a black trouser suit with a jacket featuring last collection Christopher Kane ish diagonal slashes, to an opening section of caped, black outfits, there were some delicately ravishing whispers hidden amongst the tinsel noisiness.

"Stop the smoke!" came the shouted plea from the photographers' pit. But no, the thick fumes kept squirting down from pipes above. Along with the sound of mobile phone feedback that nerve gratingly crackled over the sound system, it was either a piece of bravado from the producers just how much torture will the audience tolerate to worship at the cult of Lim? or it was a drunken dare gone wrong. The clothes were OK, but not really worth the assault. White at the back, black at the front trousers beneath fluff panelled jackets, busily detailed wool bikers, and chunky knits with complicated necks it was wearable day wear fitted out to look quirky. This sells brilliantly for Lim, so why not?

Life With All Four Kids In gamma blue 11s School

All four of my kids are in full time school now. Exie, my youngest, started Kindergarten last week and they go full days. For the last 12 years of my life I have had kids home with me now much of my day will be spent with them in school. I am sure this will allow ample time to stay caught up on my housework so when they do come home from school I can concentrate solely on them and not worry about my "chores". I am also sure this extra time will allow me to knit more, paint the kids bedrooms, and get stuff done that I want to get done before I HOPEFULLY start the nursing program in January. I turned in my third application and hope that this time I make it in.

This is really a new time in my life. My kids are all in school and I am no longer in the mode of taking care of "babies" or "toddlers". I finally have time to think about other things like decorating better, painting the kids rooms, organizing, and moving on with school so I can start a career of my own. I really feel like I have a lot to look forward to.

Even my kids lives are changing and that is exciting. My oldest is in 7th grade and she is blossoming into an "almost" teenager. It is fun taking part in her life at this age as they become social, have crushes on boys, and learn more exciting things in school. I also have to deal with more attitude, constant texting, and the scary idea that boys actually like my daughter! I always thought the baby and toddler years would be the fun years but I think it is also fun watching your kids when they are older as their minds open up, they start to figure things out about the world around them, and they are excited about life.

As you can tell, having all my kids in school now has really made me think about many things. Here are some pictures of my three youngest gamma blue 11s 2013 on their first day I can help but show them. Camille started a couple weeks ago.

Exie going to Kindergarten (and pouting because her shoes bother her), Sophie going into 2nd grade, and Davis going into jordan 11 gamma blue 5th.

I have to show this picture. Exie shoes are still bothering her. She now has new ones that feel good on her feet!

Now she is happy! She is a funny girl.

Scott and I tend to sit out on our deck a lot in the evenings. He BBQ the kids play and I knit. Scott started to take his book outside with him to read while he is tending the BBQ. There is a huge problem with this I can talk while I knit and it disturbs his reading. I had the perfect solution: TEACH THE MAN TO KNIT! And so I did. He picked it up rather quickly. His shoulders were hurting him because his tension was so tight but we worked we on that it is getting better. He is working on Sophie knitting right now for practice. So last night as we were sitting outside he asked where Sophie knitting was. I asked him why and he said "Because I want to knit with you". I think he has also figured out that if you are going to sit around, you might as well be doing something productive! So he pulled out Sophie knitting and I secretly snapped a picture of him.

he is concentrating. And probably has a bit of his toungue sticking out. I have only seen him do that while concentrating on knitting. Anyway, I think it is cute. And I am glad that he takes an interest in the things I love too.

I have TWO FO to show you! I will get pics today and will post either tonight or tomorrow.

You have wonderful kids! How are you now they are in school? If you are like me, there is always something to do while they are gone, I can actually clean the house and keep it clean until my kids are out of school.

I gave up getting my 11yo to wear shoes. She will wear them to school, as it is a school rule, but the rest of the time it is near impossible. When she was a baby, I let her go barefoot as we lived in a warm climate and I had read it helps her feet develop better. When she started school, it was a problem. I had to compromise and let her wear sandals (which the school allowed). The only time she wears socks is when she is roller skating. As she grew older, she would wear tennis shoes to school, but would pull her shoes and socks off after school and stuff them in her backpack, walking home barefoot (a little under a mile).

Like you, I was concerned about her safety. I would ask her to wear her shoes home, but when I tell her I was concerned she get them cut on glass or get hurt, she tell me she had walked on broken glass before (accidentally) and it doesn hurt her. Once I had her lay down on her bed and I looked over the bottoms of her feet. The skin was thick and her feet were tough. I lost my battle over it. Anyhow I just let her wear flip flops, sandals or tennis shoes depending on her mood and what she wants (or more often, nothing). She 11 years old, in sixth grade in middle school, so I let her decide. She takes gymnastics which is done in her barefeet and she loves it.

My 10yo son on the gamma blue 11s for sale other hand almost always wears shoes outside. After the trouble with Hannah, I decided to start him in shoes a year before he started school.

Best wishes with your kids, enjoy the extra time, summer vacation is approaching!

Your kids look great. I guess you allowed Exie to go barefoot most of her younger days. Mine were the same way, and even now at ages 10 and 12, they hate wearing shoes (wearing them only for school and church). I learned to accept it, over the past few years when I sometimes help them with nail polish on their toenails, I notice their feet have grown tougher and it doesn seem to bother them running down the road or across the parking lot without shoes, I just keep a pair of flip flops for each in the car for hot days when the pavement is too warm.

One suggestion, it fine for Exie to go barefoot, but it may help protect her nails if she wears nail polish, even the clear kind would work. Kids at her age like to kneel down on sidewalks, etc and they can scratch and scrape her nails. My girls always liked making pictures with colored chalk on the sidewalks and someone told me it offers some protection to use nail polish on their toenails.

I don know about yours, but mine also love climbing trees and when they were younger, they would also argue over who would ride in the shopping cart.
