Automotive fog lights: Novice must know notes  |
|
It’s a big challenge for novice driving in the bad weather which is dry and full of dust. In this case, drivers must light the fog light. It’s no doubt that almost drivers know to use the fog light, including novice. However, most of novice can’t understand that why to turn on fog light rather than headlight, for the headlight is brighter than the fog light.
First, let’s have a look at the function of the fog light:
Fog light is used to attract others’ attention when it is foggy and heavily rain in order to avoid the traffic accidents. It is not bright enough, nor does it illuminate much. But its lighting effect is more attractive to the front or rear cars than beam light and high beam light.
Why does the fog light own such function? It owes to the yellow light it applies. The wavelength of yellow is close to the droplet particles. Popular to say, the ability of yellow going through droplet particles is stronger than others. Therefore, yellow becomes the first choice of warning light because of its easily found by people.
Fog lights are divided into head fog light and rear fog light. Head fog light is auxiliary lighting for you in the bad weather, such as foggy, rainy and snowy days. Rear fog light is also used in the bad weather; however, it’s convenient for the rear car to balance the space between each other.
Please note that visibility less than 200M on highway must turn on the fog light!
