Have you ever heart associated degree? I believe that you will know it. However, how many information you know to it? In our research project, we will tell you.
In the following, we will talk about the background of associate degree program first. Then, we will show you three possible choices after your graduation with their difficulties and reasons. Furthermore, we will also mention that the impacts of the associate degree students. Finally, we will have solutions from the government and suggestions from our group mates respectively.
Up to now, we have talked about the difficulties in the future of AD graduates. In the following, we will talk about the solutions and suggestions provided by the Government and our group mates respectively.
Firstly, Government has done some measures to reduce the devaluation of diploma. Our society needs more working opportunity. In an attempt to reach this aim. Government is promoting the creative industry. Creative industry is some kind of industries which requires for your personal talent, expression ability and creativity. And now, The major creative industries in Hong Kong are advertising, architecture,arts and antique markets,crafts, design (see also communication design), designer Fashion, film, video and photography ,software, computer games and electronic publishing, music and the visual and performing arts, publishing, television and radio (Wikipedia). Although, Hong Kong does not has a comprehensive plan for promoting the creative industry, but the current Chief Executive Donald Tsang put the creative industry into Policy address, such as develop Creative Arts Centre in Shek Kip Mei and Hong Kong Film Development Council.
Secondly, some financial helps are provided to students. Actually, Student Financial Assistance Agency is so popular, This Government organization (1954)said:
Our vision is to assist all qualified students in need of financial assistance to achieve the education level they aspire to, and to reward and encourage students who have excelled in their studies.
In order to reach their aim, they have provide some schemes to students in terms of financial help. To the Post-secondary and tertiary level student, there are at least five schemes which are suitable for them to apply. This five are Tertiary Student Finance Scheme-Publicly-funded Programmes(TSFS),Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students(FASP),Student Finance Assistance Scheme (SFAS),Student Travel Subsidy for Tertiary or Post-secondary Students and Non-means-tested Loan Scheme. By the way, besides the Post-secondary and tertiary level student, the continuing education student and secondary and below level student are also benefit from it. Until October 30, 2010, Hong Kong Government paid average $45879 for assistance, 34652 for grant and 25615 for loan. Actually, if student are brilliant in their academic performance or other ability such as sport and art. They can also get some scholarships, it is also a kind of financial help to the student from the Student Financial Assistance.Government has also proposed the deferment of repayment scheme. Students who have difficulties in repaying money can apply the scheme for delaying the repayment period.
