everything is incorporated 分類: 未分類

Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit a large baking sheet. Draw two 8-inch diameter circles with pencil on the parchment. (If two circles don’t fit, make each meringue base layer on a separate baking sheet.) Turn the paper over on the baking sheet so that the pencil drawn circle side in down Thai Boxing.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and shiny peaks form. Beat in superfine sugar a few spoonfuls at a time until stiff, shiny peaks form off the beaters and in the bowl.

Sprinkle sifted cocoa, balsamic vinegar, and chopped chocolate over the beaten egg whites in the bowl, then gently fold until everything is incorporated.

Divide and spoon the chocolate meringue between the two circles on the parchment paper, spreading it to just about ½-inch inside the pencil mark; the meringue will spread during baking We learned this the first time when our two meringue layers spread and stuck to each other. Try to make the edges ever so slightly higher (like a rim) to hold in the fillings later .

Place the baking sheets in the pre-heated oven, then turn the temperature down to 350º. Bake the meringues until they are dry to the touch, about 1 hour. Turn off the heat, prop open the oven door, and allow the meringues to cool down completely inside the oven.

The cooled meringues can be stored in an air tight container in a cool, dry place for a couple of days.

Assemble the Pavlova: Place one chocolate meringue on a serving platter, with rimmed edges to catch any melted ice cream if desired. Place small scoops of the different ice cream in a single layer on top. Place the second meringue layer on top, adding another layer of ice cream scoops. Top with fresh sliced strawberries, then drizzle with chocolate sauce or hot fudge.

Serve immediately. No part of this dessert can be stored once it is assembled so eat all of it Melbourne Polytechnic.

onto the chia pudding 分類: every

Today, I woke up. I woke up filled with an enthusiasm for life, a feeling that, in the past few years, has not come easily to me .

I am alive. I am happy. I am healthy. I am whole. I am loved. I am blessed. I am grateful.

There was a time in my life when days seemed endless and I struggled to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was an emotional roller coaster, stuck in a riptide of negativity and anxiety. My periods didn’t come. They would disappear for months on end, occasionally resurfacing for two weeks at a time. My weight fluctuated almost as much as my moods did, and I just didn’t feel good DR REBORN.

It started when I was sixteen, when I experienced the toxic combination of first love and puberty’s crazy hormones. My girlfriends were all delving into the mysterious world of boys and dating, and, not wanting to be left behind, I begged my mother to take me to the doctor for birth control. I told her it was because I wanted to regulate my periods and because I heard the wonders it did for your skin. She gave me the benefit of the doubt, and we went to the doctor, where I got a three-month prescription .

Shortly after I started taking birth control, I noticed changes in my body. I gained fifteen pounds and was almost always bloated. I cried often and over small things, and I didn’t realize it at the time, but my mood swings were so bad that all the girls at school thought I just had awful PMS all the time. I eventually stopped taking birth control when my then-boyfriend and I broke up, and for half a year, I was happier than ever. I was social, gave no fucks, and had the time of my life.

When Lewis and I started dating, I decided to go on birth control again. I tried the pill for a few months, before ditching it for the implant. Almost immediately after I began taking birth control, my emotional stability began to go downhill, and a year into the implant, my periods went back to being completely unpredictable. It wasn’t until Lewis confronted me that I did some serious thinking. He, too, had noticed the mood swings, the debilitating stress and anxiety, and the increasing number of days when I just felt like I couldn’t get out of bed, all of which he felt had began after I started taking birth control.

When I returned to Toronto, I visited the centre for birth control at the Women’s College Hospital to have the expired implant removed from my arm. During my visit, I spoke with a doctor about different methods of birth control. He was patient and took the time to explain the pros and cons of each of them. I was hesitant, but he gave me a pack of pills to take home in case I changed my mind. After heavy deliberation, I decided that the benefits of birth control did not outweigh the terrible side effects I experienced from it.

Our bodies are so fine-tuned; any shift in its natural hormonal balance could have adverse effects on both physical and emotional wellbeing. Our bodies are designed to reproduce and bring life into the world, and for me, it just didn’t feel right to suppress my body’s natural inclination through synthetic hormones.* I fully recognize the benefits of birth control and respect the decision of those who use it, and I firmly believe that it should be available to those who want it. It just isn’t for me. Birth control had drastic effects on my health and changed who I was as a person, two things I am not prepared to sacrifice.

Since going off birth control, my cycle has returned to its fully functioning self and I’ve never been more grateful to have regular periods in my life. I am happier and healthier than ever before, and I am so, so thankful for it.

I am not saying that all women should have children, nor am I saying that all women should want to.

Now… onto the chia pudding!

For the past few months, I’ve been working on re-photographing and improving recipes that I shared on this blog when it first started, this chia pudding being one of them. This tropical fruit chia pudding is a revamped version of the mango chia pudding I posted a year ago (now removed because of the terrible photos…), and was inspired by my recent visit to Starving Artist, a waffle joint here in Toronto. While I was there, I split a pineapple banana crunch waffle with my cousin. I have a soft spot for all things crunchy, and this waffle was no exception. I couldn’t resist the sweet fruit and the crunchy peanuts, and I knew that was exactly what I wanted to do the next time I made chia pudding.

The best thing about chia pudding? You make it the night before, pop it in the fridge, and you can just grab and go the next morning. If you aren’t a chia-pudding-for-breakfast kind of person, you can have it as an afternoon snack, or even better, as a pre-bedtime dessert.

absolutely delicious 分類: sounded

This method of letting it cook/rest in the residual heat just produced the most amazing texture for the roast beef. First, I must say that I wasn't a fan of roast beef for a long time because I've been scarred by it so many times in the past . The meat for most roast beefs tend to be very rough, tough and fibrous. However with this method, what you get is a really soft, juicy and succulent meat . In fact, you could hardly feel the fibres in the meat and most people mistook my beef for lamb! It was absolutely delicious .

Bought this jar of Gold Mustard with Truffle Oil from Yarra Valley a few weeks ago and decided to serve it with the beef associate degree...

Anyway, this recipe is insanely easy to do and yields fantastic results . I cannot speak more highly of it and definitely recommend you make this for your friends or family if you're not on turkey duty this festive occasion . It feeds a whole family and barely requires you to do anything so frees up time for you to prepare other dishes. It's great. Please try this for yourself Dream beauty pro.

Forget pizza or cupcakes 分類: sounded

If I could choose one final meal on earth, it just might be French Onion Soup. Forget pizza or cupcakes. To me, there is nothing more savory and comforting then a bowl of this hearty soup. I am not sure what part of it I like best: the warm and rich flavor of onions in broth or the soggy bread covered in melted cheese. (Okay, well, maybe it is the latter by a margin!)

Two things amaze me about French Onion Soup: 1) the simple ingredient list and 2) the time it takes to make this presumably simple soup. In order to give this soup the rich taste that its known for, onions should be carmelized for 30-45 minutes before going in the slow cooker for at least four hours. Perfection takes time, people!

I made this recipe on a lazy fall weekend when the chill in the air began to creep through our windows. I started first thing in the morning before the kids woke up, so that we could enjoy a bowl for lunch. Best. Lunch. Ever.

Since I was going to have to wait five hours before I could eat this meal, I used ingredients that made it worth it, you know? I bought some nice Gruyere cheese and shredded it to top my soup bowls.

I don’t know how I was able to take some of these photos. I wish you could have walked into my house and smelled what I could smell. It was divine. At this point, I was sooooo close to digging into my soup!

One piece of advice on the French baguette slices: briefly toast them before covering them with cheese and broiling. Be careful, however, because the bread will toast fast on broil! I lost about five slices by waiting too long to pull them from the oven.

Seriously. This below photo says it all. Not very pretty, but perfection for my taste buds.

Dosa was crisp 分類: every

After living in South from past few years one thing in me has definitely changed, my breakfast habits, I have become huge fan of South Indian breakfast and I think I have tasted breakfast of almost each and every kind of South Indian breakfast joint in Bangalore as well as Chennai. There is something very succulent and satisfying about sweet and spicy sambhar, humble chutney and dosa/idli, which with every bite make me crave for more.

When I got newly married and shifted to Chennai I use to buy freshly churned dosa/idli batter....don't give me that look, I was not a food blogger that time and also I had never cooked South Indian food items at my mother's place, she use to make dosa once in a blue moon to treat us but never bothered to ask her how it is being made.  Then slowly I started with Rava Idlis, then Rice Idlis, Masala Dosa but I later discovered my favorite of all is Rava Dosa, with more research and cooking trials at home I realized it requires lot of patience to cook Rava Dosa at home, actually being an impatient cook I felt so.

Sometimes at home in morning I wanted to prepare South Indian breakfast but forgot to prepare the batter in advance or short of one or two crucial ingredients then came into picture Soulful, which is a packaged food brand under the under the Kottaram Agro Foods have come up with innovative and interesting range of South Indian breakfast mixes, though market is already flooded with packaged breakfast mixes, then how Soulfull stands out in the crowd??? To know the answer I tried Soulfull Rava Idli mix and to my surprise it was similar in taste and texture as my homemade Rava Idlis, it motivated me enough to try out their Rava Dosa mix, you must be thinking that I am bragging but the result was outstanding, Dosa was crisp, flavorful, no artificial coloring, almost like any good South Indian tiffin center selling, and the best part was the batter stayed good in the fridge even till next day.

My Mind by Disclosure 分類: every

To make this salad, you’ll have to endure a good bit of peeling, deseeding, and chopping, but the outcome is completely worth the work. Jicama root is peeled and spiralized to create a crunchy, fresh noodle base. Then, you’ll have a chance to work your snazzy knife skills as you thinly slice red peppers, orange peppers, purple cabbage, scallions, kale, and cilantro. It’s slightly time-consuming, but just throw on some catchy tunes (see below), get chopping, and have fun with it. The dressing comes together in a little more than five minutes, and it’s worth every single second. Tahini is whisked with soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, agave nectar, ginger, garlic, and turmeric root to create a dressing that dares you not to take another bite.  It’s creamy, garlicky, tangy, and sweet with just a kick of warmth from the fresh ginger. It blankets the vegetables and jicama noodles in the most wonderful way, and it’s packed with zesty flavors and nutritional goodness.

Today’s Sound Bite is Help Me Lose My Mind by Disclosure. It’s not a new song but it packs an irresistible beat (just wait for the 48 second mark) and soothing vocals that will turn the salad-making process into a kitchen dance party. Just chop + dance responsibly.

Did I mention it’s easy 分類: sounded

Oh! Let’s talk about that warm Balsamic Lemon Thyme Reduction drizzle! As it was reducing, I had to keep tasting it just to make sure it really was as heavenly as I remembered!

It is! A sweet balsamic glaze with a hint of fresh thyme and little zing from the lemon! I just cannot even tell you how magical it is. It really sets off all the other flavors of the salad and makes the tastebuds sing!

I know, I know. That’s the same Foolproof Rosemary Chicken as here and here and here. Yup and here. You must understand I absolutely love this chicken! And it’s easy. And it’s consistently juicy. Did I mention it’s easy?

We’ve got some familiar faces in this salad like the aforementioned chicken and roasted rosemary potatoes. But it’s about the combination and the marriage of flavors that sets this salad apart from everyone else.

I used an easy broiler technique to grill the onions in my grill pan while the chicken was resting. This will…Change. Your. Life! I also love how the timing just works out.

It’s all about the timing. I’m a little OCD and I like everything timed in my kitchen so that each component is ready at the exact same time. Thanksgiving…you don’t even want to know. I had a timetable set up in advance. It was all orchestrated to the minute by dish. It started 3 days in advance. I know. I have a problem.

sounded exhausting 分類: every

Last week, I found myself in a bit of a baking and blogging rut and at first I blamed it on the weather. With the sun out until almost 9pm every night, the last thing I wanted to do was stand in front of a hot oven or type hunched over my laptop. It also didn’t help either that our apartment oven was acting up again, but the biggest reason was even if I wanted to bake something, I was at a loss for ideas. My to-bake list was uninspiring and for most of last week, just the thought of trying to make something sounded exhausting ielts hk.

Luckily, this feeling passed. Usually I make a conscious effort to post a recipe or something once a week, but sometimes things come up. Plus I think its good to take a break once in a while rather than try to rush out content that I’m not particularly proud of loop.

This week was going to be all about making my own crackers, but a recipe I followed turned out to be a complete disaster in the too-much-salt and leaves-a-funny-aftertaste department. Even Trevor couldn’t think of anything nice to say and it was one of the few times where we just ended up throwing the whole thing out after a few bites. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does I get sad because one of my pet peeves is wasting food A Bar.

Pampered Chef chopper 分類: every

California Fitness

This beautiful, bright green side dish is in my second cookbook and remains one of my absolute favorite things to eat. I’ve been on a kale kick for probably two years now, and I never, ever get tired of the stuff. It just makes you feel like Wonder Woman. Or Super Man. Whichever fits. I’ve been wanting to post the recipe here on my site for those of you who might not have seen it yet. It’s to die for elyze好唔好!
The great thing about kale is, it’s most delicious when prepared very simply: Just throw it into a sizzling skillet with olive oil and garlic, and a world of glory will open up for you! If you haven’t yet become addicted to kale, just try this. Just once.
You’ll be hooked immediately.

Panfried KaleYou need kale, glorious kale! This is just straight-up curly/salad bar kale, but if you can find Tuscan kale, it’s delicious, too. Give it a good rinse under cold water, then tear it into chunks. If the kale is overly gritty/dirty, soak the kale in cold water for a few minutes.
After you’ve torn it up, pat it dry with paper towels Adon jewelry.

Panfried KaleI chopped a whole bunch of garlic—as in, a gnarly amount of garlic. And I used one of those Pampered Chef chopper things, which, if you have to chop a lot of garlic, is an absolute miracle.
This is not an advertisement for one of those Pampered Chef chopper things. I’m just telling you they’re handy, man Web Vulnerability Scan.

Panfried KaleHeat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then throw in the garlic and stir it around immediately so it won’t burn.
And yes, this is a lot of garlic. But it’ll make you happy and will keep vampires away for weeks.

green peas usal or matar usal recipe – a coconut and spice based fresh green peas curry from the maharashtrian cuisine. also a no onion no garlic recipe vacuum cleaner.

i make the regular malvan style usal recipe which i have already posted on the blog with sprouts or with kala chana and this chawli usal recipe . this time, i wanted to make a different variety of usal, than what i regularly prepare.

so when there were some freshly shelled peas in the refrigerator, i decided to make this usal. since i have a lot of cookbooks, i have adapted this recipe from a few of them. usually when i want to try a new recipe, i always look in my cook books. reading the books over browsing the internet, takes more preference, when looking for a recipe Piano.

the consistency of this green peas usal is semi dry. the curry has mild sweet tones and is lightly spiced. the mild sweetness comes from the coconut and jaggery. the sweetness of the peas, also add to overall flavor and taste of the dish. to add a tang to the dish, i have also added lemon juice.

the usal goes best with soft chapatis, phulkas and even bread or the indian pav (dinner rolls). you can also serve usal as a side dish. along with the usal, i had made vangi bhaji (dry eggplant curry) along with chapatis.

if you are looking for more maharashtrian recipes then do check amti dal, vangi bharit, moong dal khichdi and batata bhaji designer brands for less.

French dessert 分類: every

Sometimes you need a dessert sneak attack. I’m not talking about those days when you need to sit yourself on the couch with a tub of ice cream, or an entire cookie jar – though I totally have those days alexander hera.

No, I’m talking about those times when you need to whip out a proper, grown-ups dessert on short notice. It totally happens! Sometimes you plan a whole dinner, but then dessert somehow manages to slip your mind. Or you decide on the spur of the moment to make dinner a little more special than usual. Or people somehow multiply in number come dinnertime.

Of course, no-one ever needs to have dessert. But sometimes we want it. And that’s enough for me fitness .

I’m firmly of the opinion that you have to get your kicks in life where you can. And if it’s as easy as whipping out a few store cupboard staples and in half an hour tucking into a crazy-fancy French dessert, well then HELL YEAH, let’s do it!

That’s right – store cupboard staples. You heard correctly. Because that is the beauty of this recipe. It’s made entirely out of things which you almost certainly have in your house right now designer bags for less.

it was a great day 分類: every

I have been loving this beautiful spring weather, how about you? After this long winter it feels so incredibly wonderful to get outside! Soon it will be time to start planting my herb garden and picking out flowers, one of my favorite things to do. The trees are all blooming right now, I wish they would stay that way all year facial treatment!

Yet again this year I missed seeing the Cherry Blossoms in D.C. I swore last year we would make it downtown to see them. I thought it was so perfect this year that our Spring break even landed right when they were blooming. Well, when my friend and I loaded my car up last week with the kids and headed into D.C., our goal was the zoo or one of the national parks in D.C. After a stop for one child getting car sick, then running into construction everywhere we turned, and the gps taking us through all the residential areas, we finally pulled up to the zoo at 10:45 a.m. to find the parking lot completely full! As we passed the entrance to the National Zoo, we saw that it was packed! And there were still people coming from everywhere! Yes, I understand, it’s the National Zoo, but this is one of our favorite places to go, and I have never seen it this busy. Not even on the 4th of July! I guess everyone thought it was a great day to go Loan!

So we set forth to find one of the National parks in the area. We couldn’t remember the name of it so we Googled and well let’s just say it was supposedly “the best kept secret” in Georgetown, that led us to a park with no parking cheap designer handbags.

shocking force 分類: every

I was never any good with kids.  Which seems strange considering that I am the eldest amongst all my cousins, on both my mother’s and my father’s side.  You would think that I would be besieged with babysitting duties growing up.  But for some reason unknown to me, this was not the case.  My cousins grew up around me, and it only was when they were a little bit older that I was comfortable around them.  Babies did not enthrall me the way they did other girls, who would coo and carry them as if they were born to the task.  I took one of my toddler cousins to a children’s party once upon a time and I was so tense (don’t you dare fall off that swing!!) that I had a stiff neck and a stiff drink afterwards TV Mobile Stand.

I never held an infant until my own daughter was placed in my arms.

I hoped, fingers-crossed and salt-over-the-shoulder, all those nights when little C grew inside of me, that something magical would happen when I gave birth and I would turn into…a mother.  A mum.  A mama.  Someone who knew instinctively what to do.  Someone who effortlessly sat her happy and content baby on her hip while spouting things about the benefits of nursing and infant-led-weaning.  I wanted to trust all those well meaning, and seemingly more experienced, women who said that it would all come naturally Bordeaux wine.

What did come naturally (and with shocking force) was the complete and absolute (and often irrationally hormonal) love I have for these two little beings.  A love so powerful it borders on painful paranoia sometimes.  Sometimes I just want to stay home and smell them – that kind of weird love…that if it wasn’t your own kids somebody would be calling for a restraining order Flowers in Hong Kong delivery.
