When you're angry and selfish and spiteful, have you ever thought, maybe, just maybe, that these people around you, being kind to you and trying to console you, are not as simple as they seem to be?

Maybe they're just doing that to keep you moving, keep you alive, so that you don't fall before you should, so that you serve your purpose to the maximum.

It would be really nice to just take it all in, but I'm way past self-deception, so before I find out the truth, I'm going remain a skeptic.
