| Effective Small Size Classes |
Undeniably, the current trend in education around the world is towards small class teaching. It is common sense to believe that smaller class size and higher teacher-student ratios are better for learners, especially young children.
Small size classes can create a more productive learning environment than big size classes. There will be ample opportunities for teachers to conduct a diversity of interactive learning activities. When ther are fewer people in a classroom, there can be more interaction and communication between teachers and students. Teachers will be more able to attend to their students as individuals and help them develop their personal skills. Moerover the quality of assessment can also be enhanced as teachers are in a good position to provide immediate feedback on students' work and monitor their progress more accurately. In a class of more than forty students, quite a lot of time has to be spent on classroom supervision and management. This wasted time can be well saved in a small size class where the teacher can focus more on quality teaching.
