Barcelona president Joan Laporta remains hopeful that club captain Carles Puyol will agree a new contract with the European and Spanish champions Christian Audigier Cap before the end of the year. Tre Maddox, Deldre Carr and CJ Washington managed to stay out of the spotlight Thursday night as the NBA kicked off its preseason games with replacement referees.
