In our daily life, work & business is an inseparable part that we use most of time to face and handle. Everyone needs to work for their wants or life. Along with grow up of digital technology, the world of ‘Work & Business’ changed
First I want to discuss is the change of the environment of ‘Work & Business’. Along with grow up of digital technology, there become more problems and needs of digital. Then it makes opportunity of work. There are many jobs ‘created’ by digital technology likes programmer, forum manager, apps designer and technology department. And everything change to digital and online with grow up of digital technology.
In the past, everyone does their work in their work in the office; record things by pen and papers; take a plane to have a meeting and present things by mouth, paper and blackboard; design things with hand draw. By digital technology, we can do all the things with a computer anywhere. Work everywhere with computer, marks things, online meeting, design things by software and use infographic to present things easily. Digital technology makes the way how we work changes. In this case, people can do all the works or things with 1 computer only. Also, we use digital technology to do things better and saving time, so we can save those times for doing others things.
For business, the grow of digital technology build a big network online. Distance between people getting closer and closer. It means ‘global businesses’ become easily. If you hold a business online, your market can expand to the whole world, everyone can see and buy you product online. Also, B2B, B2C even C2C or C2B become convenience, so Alibaba (B2B), Taobao (B2C) comes and become the ‘winner’ of digital technology. They are an online platform, shops or factory post their products or what they can do, and customer can find, compare, and shopping online easier. For shops, they save times to find customer, save money to have a real shop and expand their market. The cost, time and even risk can be lowest if they have business online. It benefits both side.
For the business offline, they can enjoy the benefits of digital too. For boss, he can lead and control many company at the same time by phone or computer. He can see what those companies did by computer at home and watch it easily by infographic. Boss doesn’t need to go every company to see the result of them. Out of the boss, the company can buy sources with those online methods. For example Book Company, it can use Alibaba to hire companies make books, sell the books online and promote by advertising online in Facebook.
Nowadays, E-business is a good way for people wants to do business with low cost and save rent, salary, raw materials and even advertisement. It increases the competitive power of the small company. The variety and diversity of business are expanding by digital technology and it brings efficiency to companies.
For work, online worker is a new trend of works. By the research of government 2011, there are 18% people in Hong Kong work online.What is online workers means? It means people don’t need to work in office but anywhere. We call it virtual office, virtual office is a place that people work with things they need, and they can work everywhere if they have enough source to work. People get works, data and information they need to do, and boss will tell them what to do online. Boss can check their works every time and everywhere without face content. That means workers can work in different country, different language, or different age. Workers and boss can never see others. All they need to do is finish the work, present it to others online and communicate with colleagues online.
What is the benefit of online workers? First, boss can hire people everywhere with ability. That means boss can compare people and hire the most suitable one. Also, online works don’t need office, so there can be more capital input to the products or employees. Also, there can be easier to post jobs and find employees though internet. Efficient can be improved if they work online.
By the way, all works or businesses are on the internet. There may be risk be trusting people online or hacker problems. All the things changing online will make people leave away from exercise and become fat. In my own views, the pros are more than cons, most jobs or business changing online is the future trend. It can’t stop. With suitable regulation, policy, and be smart and keep claim for things online, this can bring positive improvement to society.
