Mr Yeung,

Your questions just like what the reporters asked me two years ago, when the stock market was in its peak. Although I asked them not to give me the anme "14-year-old god of stock", they did it finally. By the way, let me answer your questions one by one.

I first invested in stock market in February 2006 when the China Construction Bank had just listed in HK. At that time, I read an article written by someone (I forget) from the Headline Daily wrote that the share price of CCB could rise to $4. At that time, it was only $3.75. I suddenly thought that if I bought it for 50000 dollars, I can earn several thousand dollars! Therefore, I asked my mother to open an account and buy it immediately. (You may wonder why my mother trust me so much. I'll tell you more later). Unfortunately, the share price began to drop a lot after it reached its peak at $3.85. I lost a lot as a result. My mum didn't scold me much but I was very unhappy. Therefore, I began to look for further information about the stock market. I read financial news every day and listened to the financial radio programmes. With my continuous effort almost a year, I began to familiar with the daily operation of the financial markets including stock, forex as well as bond.

I agree that my original motive of buying stock is to earn more money. However, as time goes by, I found that it's really interesting to invest in stock market. I'll be very happy if I can earn money form the market. That kind of happiness cannot be found anywhere excpet in stock market.

After 9 months of sadness, the share price of CCB finally rose above my buying price. I'm pleased to sell it at $4.1, but it quickly rose to $4.3 afterwards. I used the sum of money to buy other stocks later. I gain much profit from 1800 中交建, which made me really proud of myself at that time. I earned more than $100000 from this stock, and I never earn this sum of money again in one single stock.

Later, I began to invest in warrants. However, I lost everytime. Therefore, I have stopped investing it since 2008.

I have a bullish view on the stock market in the following 12 months. I believe the HSI will rise to 23000-24000 before a great drop of more than 5000 pints. How about you? What is your target point of the HSI?

Yours truly,
Matthew

 啱啱系琴日識左一個新朋友...

琴晚腥封百幾字既英文e-mail同佢打開話題

估吾到今日收番封一千字既回覆 A__A

比大家欣賞下XD

反正無咩私穩既 ;D

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for contacting me. Have been expecting your email.
Dr law did not say much about you, except your name and that you are slightly different from your peers.
I am very glad that you are so open about yourself.

I first met Dr law about 2 weeks ago, I did not know her beforehand. I was randomly picking a medical doctor to write me a referral for physiotherapy, so I knocked at her door.
Though I only expected a 3 mins consultation, it ended up a 30-40 mins chatting on lots of things - religion, psychological depression, power of coincidence, younger generation,.. etc. We exchanged emails afterwards, and you might have seen one of the messages I sent her.

About myself... I am a man of 40+. Worked in banks for some years in Hong Kong after finishing university in the UK, then engaged in some China business, travelling between China & HK. And in the recent years I stationed at HK looking after my business investments. Just an ordinary man, married with no kid.

The reason why Dr Law lined us up is that she thinks you & I may have many common interests, not in terms of hobby, but the ways we chose to see things happening around us.  I always enjoy learning from others; their views & thinking on every issue of life. Hope that through our communication, we may share our views with each other on everything that we can think of.

So if you don't mind, since you have the time now, I will keep asking you questions*, and to be fair, you can bomb me with yours...
But a word of warning ... Old man (relatively) type Slow... so please bear with my response speed.

Now the question ....
You have been investing time in the stock market for 4 years. What is your drive ? Is it money or  the feeling of beating the market ? Do you invest in warrants? What is your view of the market in the next 12 months ? Buy, Hold, Sell now ?
Only 5 out of 100 can get money out of the market, how is your performance so far ? Are you preparing yourself to work with one of the Morgans, big or small, in the future ?

* Please don't feel obliged to answer all the questions, we take things very easy. It is not a Q&A session. The questions only serve the purpose of opening up topics.

Regards
cpy
