根本沒法讓自己的頭腦停下來，
而且他們往往要别人也一起勤勞，
所以做他的朋友可是很容易被他盯的哦！

還喜歡碎碎念個不停，
尤其是在你不願意做一件事情，
而他又認爲這件事相當好時，
他會念你念得更加厲害！

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.

Today, I’d like to give a speech on the difference between local and overseas university education. As all of you have children who are ready to finish their secondary education, it is useful to give you information on this, such that you can help your children to choose wisely.

In general, universities in Hong Kong adopt a teaching method known as spoon-feeding. By the method of spoon-feeding, students are given a fixed set of knowledge without much need of independent thinking. This method, although fails to stimulate thinking, has the advantage of being effective: students can receive a large amount of knowledge within a short period of time, which can be put to use directly.

In order to facilitate the high effectiveness, local universities often have a rigid course structure. Students are required to complete the list of courses according to a pre-set timetable, and this schedule cannot be easily changed on individual basis. Students does not have much choice on their pace of studying.

In contrast, overseas universities usually have a much more flexible teaching method. Students have a lot more freedom in their learning process. They are asked to carry out individual research, and are expected to be responsible for their own learning. Consequently, this method would lead to lower effectiveness in studying: since students are told to find everything by themselves, more time is needed in getting the same amount of knowledge, when compared to spoon-feeding education.

However, since this type of education has less control over the students, they have a different course system when compared to the local universities. Students can finish the course in a much flexible manner. They can set their own schedule in learning, and hence they can have a more flexible length of studying in the university. After all, teaching and learning in an overseas university greatly depends on individual.

Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses, and each of them suits the need for different children. You must ask your children in choosing the types of education which fits him or her most.
